If I'm alert I struggle to picture stuff, images are fleeting and faint, and get pushed out by random shit. Mostly it's just darkness I see or weird lights like swirling water at night.

If I'm tired and close my eyes it tends to be landscapes I see, the apple would have to be on a tree or fence post for me to concentrate on it. I couldn't do an apple against a blank background

1 - when I imagine an apple I imagine a fruit, not a vague clump of pixels. I've seen apples before so I can do it from memory.
