I was in high school back then. It was the last good year of my life. After that, nothing felt the same anymore, even the vibe was different. What were you guys doing that year?

I wouldn't say that it was "good" year since i suffered finishing my grade 12 that summer but it felt more alive before AI grew. Everyone talks about dopamine desensitization from too much pleasure but there is also something similar with ai taking away our ignorance and causing numbness just by it existing. ㅤ
I was in 11th grade that year too. School was getting a little harder, but honestly, I’d still choose that year over the one we’re in now. I actually get what you mean about AI. Things did feel more alive before it became such a huge part of everyday life. I also miss not having everything instantly explained or generated for us. It made discovering things feel more exciting somehow.
I was living in Chicago at the time, and based on my experience there, I have no doubt that the pandemic/scamdemic was brought in to help create a negative environment ahead of the 2020 election, as well as to provide a litmus test to see how much gov't meddling would be tolerated by the population. After having successfully stolen the election, the establishment then flipped the switch after Biden's approval rating declined, and covid disappeared overnight. Then it was on to the green new scam, opening the border back up and dumping free money in the streets, ostensibly to get people to associate the Dems with lots of free stuff, paid for by the tax dollars of working people. That's my interpretation of 2020-'22.
Damn, you really went through a lot during that time 😭 I was just in high school, living my life and not thinking about politics at all lol. 2022 feels like such a different era now.
Yeah, that's the great thing about being young; you don't worry about whether or not you're going to have a country left in a few years. I was working at a 24 hour gas station, and I went from virtually no customers from Jan-March, '21, to hundreds of people stampeding in the door after the restrictions were lifted. Just imagine being at the register at midnight, when a van pulls up with a loud, boisterous group of EBT recipients, coming in to buy junk food because their card has been reloaded. We were held up at gunpoint twice, and people were being carjacked in broad daylight. No matter what you hear about Chicago, it's ten times worse.
Wow that sounds intense Working at a 24-hour gas station during all of that must have been quite an experience Getting held up at gunpoint twice is actually crazy though, I can’t imagine how scary that must’ve been
It wasn't really that scary, it was just mind boggling that everything was fantastic in December 2019, but then the calendar flips to 2020, and 'boom', 'boom', 'boom', all these bad things start happening one after another. Then, once summer started, you had to wear a mask and get the shots -- unless you were crossing the border illegally or burning down the city, in which case you didn't have to.
Well I/We were preparing for the birth of our daughter (Nov. 2022).
Aww that’s so sweet 🥹 November 2022 must be such a special memory for you I hope everything went beautifully and that your daughter has brought you lots of happiness💗
Thank you so very much indeed.
And just to add to this extremely special occasion, she came into the world just two days before our wedding anniversary!
To be completely honest, it quite simply couldn't get any better than this
I had to go through my photos to check.
I had 3 running events in the fall of 2022. Two of them were in a different province.
Lots of pictures of just hanging out with family. Went to the pumpkin patch
I was hustling for/in some damn project acquisition, not worth mentioning. But, I still remember my finishing of highschool and a certain emptiness following that year.
I don't know about the 'fall,' but it was another amazing year.
I was starting my last year of college
