Would you fight back if Mike Tyson slapped you in public?

Imagine you are out somewhere and Mike Tyson walks up and slaps you right across the face. Would your pride and instinct make you fight him on the spot, or would you realize who it is and instantly stand down? Personally, no matter how much ego someone has, swinging back at a legendary heavyweight champion sounds like a complete death wish. But some people have that immediate 'fight or flight' reflex where they'd swing back regardless.

This is Mitch Green and this is what Mike did to his eye in 1988 in a street fight, ungloved.

What about you? Would you try to defend your honor right then and there, or would you take the hit and handle it through the police or a lawyer instead?

Fight him on the spot: I don't care who it is, my instinct would take over and I'd swing right back.

Stand down immediately: It's Iron Mike. Fighting him is a death wish, so I'm walking away to save my life.

Call the police / Press charges: I'm not fighting a lethal heavyweight champion; I'm calling a lawyer and getting a massive paycheck.

Shock / Freeze up: Honestly, I'd probably just be completely paralyzed in disbelief that Mike Tyson just slapped me.

The entire premise is absurd. In order to slap me in the face, anyone, including Mike Tyson, has to approach me such that i have plenty of time to assess their threat to me. I would create space and he would not be able to just slap me.
I would attempt to defuse the situation by extending my hand for a handshake and telling him i’m a fan, as well as mentioning that i noticed he looks like he’s out for blood. If he swung anyway, i would put more space between us and warn him to back off. If he insisted on attacking, i would fight him. He might win, but he will regret fighting me.

Hell yea I would. Doesn't matter if I will win or lose. If someone slaps or spits on you in public, you HAVE TO fight back out of principal. Such disrespect CANNOT go unchecked if you are to call yourself a man.

I know I couldn’t win in a fight against him. Zero or close to zero women probably could. He’s physically stronger than me but we’re the same height. I’m 5’10 as well.

Mikey is 60. But he's not in bad shape. He's still training other fighters. He'd still be dangerous for a non pro fighter. It would be a bad bet to fight him. But then him slapping you is a low probability event too. He seems to have mellowed a lot with age. He seems like a pretty nice guy.

@Iron_Man I ran a half marathon that is run on a local beach. I had a customer that was a big track star at a major college. He introduced me to a guy who was one of the best milers that the US Olympic team had. He looked to be about my size and weight and i think he did not look in as good shape as me. I figured if I could go toe to toe with this guy it would really be something.
When the race started I kept up with him for the first mile or so but I knew that I was going too fast and soon I faded while this guy just blew the doors off me.
Pro athletes are really on a whole different level than the rest of us.

@exitseven No but I’m different. I played with pro athletes that was in the NFL and I Dogged him. He was a pro bowler to. You were young then you didn’t have the experience to finish your kick. He was probably older and more experienced than you. You can’t look at it like you can’t stand a chance against A pro athlete were you even even trained properly? Besides, I’ve sparred with world champions in boxing and I did real well. I’m not the average guy that just plays pick up football.

Tyson isn’t a pro athlete anymore and he has repeatedly admitted that he doesn’t have the blood thirst anymore. He smokes a lot of pot now. He’s also pretty long in the tooth. Anyone in reasonably good shape with a fair amount of fight experience would probably fare better than most fans are willing to admit.
