Should girls call a guy 'angel'?

I wanted a cute nickname to call my boyfriend, as he always has cute ones for me and mine are usually 'boo'. That's basically it. So I was wondering if girls call guys angel and how they feel about that. I don't want him feeling uncomfortable or girly. Because girls usually get called angel. And if that's too odd what are names guys like to be called. Besides their name.
