What is the point of underwear?

I've been underwear-free for about a year now because I just can't find a reason to wear them (plus it's way more comfy). And to think, I was spending $5 a pantie at VS all my life to realize I didn't need them.

Why do you wear underwear? What is the purpose?

1. first its clean and comfy, everyone has their prefs as to what kind to wear but I've never heard or seen a girl who doesn't wear any unless theyre at home

2. guys love it, my boyfriend loves it, I think its cute/adorable myself, not into lingerie tho

3. breast support, don't wana have saggy boobs tyvm, I much rather keep it firm and attractive, if you feel uncomfortable with it then get fitted properly

4. stuck with pants if I don't have undies, and I'm kind of a skirt person so I don't like it, plus I much prefer not to feel the breeze and not let pervs and molesters have it easy

5. need it for pads, will never use tampons (dont even try to convince me.)

if your a conservationist don't bother, underwear is cheap so theirs no reason to go cost cutting with it, seriously..

if your a naturalist then wear cotton, its organic! ... pun intended

if your an exhibitionist.. well.. whatever turns you on I guess.. just tell me irl beforehand so I don't get pulled into another rape case..

@QA you just reminded me of something funny back in HS, the principal banned panties on girls students, forced to wear short shorts, most followed it so they wouldn't get in trouble but a few including me defied it, still wore panties to school for the whole year, the only people fast enough were the security guards and we always busted them for sexual harassent for trying to lift our skirts, when we got caught we switched to spats for the next 2 yrs, the old witch finally gave up after that lol

I wear bras (though your argument isn't true, not wearing bras helps keep boobs perky because it keeps the muscle tissue tighter though jiggling). My boyfriends doesn't wear underwear either lol. I'm not a conservationist, naturalist or exhibitionist. I paid lots of money for high quality underwear when I wore it. I just think it's more comfortable without, especially because it doesn't serve me a purpose (I only use tampons). I wear spandex when I wear skirts and dresses

whatever you feel comfortable with I guess, I can't do it myself it'd be too awkward & embarassing, only times I don't wear panties is on volleyball, cosplay, some sometimes MA, I wear spats then, only went bare once and it was by accident, didn't like it at all..

I think most people have covered it pretty well.

Cleanliness is a big a one. If you want underwear then if you are in a spot where you have to/want to wear the same pants two days in a row, the pants are less dirty.

There's also the issue of some clothing rubbing on you the wrong way. Jeans are terribly uncomfortable when the crotch area rubs against a tender part of your body.

They give you something to wear with a guys shirt to get him all worked up.

If your pants don't fit and you bend down it keeps you from showing plumbers crack.

If you never wear them and a guy just gets used to seeing you without them, you lose that fun slowly removing your panties and letting them drop to the floor tease.

Warmth is indeed added.

What others have said about skirts and dresses.

It's fun every so often to go without them, but not something I want all the time.

I think the main purpose of underwear is to protect your vagina and keep it clean (by absorbing any discharge/sweat).

I agree with you. I stopped wearing underwear about a year ago too. I only wear it during my period (I am a pad girl).

I keep my v-area clean at all times and so I don't really see the point of wearing an underwear for myself. If I am going to get laid, I have a stack of sexy/lace underwear I put on but that's about it.

So you're NOT alone! LOL. At the end of the day, it's all preference. Do what you think is right. Like I said, knowing my body, I can go without underwear because it doesn't cause me any kind of problems. And to be honest, it's a lot more comfy for me.

Well you never know when you need to take your pants off and if you don't have underwear on, it might be discomforting for other people. And besides, I wear jeans alot, so the fabric is pretty uncomfortable on when you aren't wearing underwear. It tends to rub then skin annoyingly.

1. So my just stays in place

2. So my balls don't stick to my leg

3. Its more comfortable (reasons listed above)

4. keeps you warmer

5. If I had to go to the doctors and strip down for a physical, it would be awkward if I was nude.

I guess the way I see it is that I only wear my pants once before washing them, so it doesn't make a difference to me if my discharge is on my jeans or if it was on my underwear, because they get washed equally as often.

1. Not wearing a bra actually keep boobs from sagging because what causes sagging is weight and a "use it or lose it" method with the muscle. In other words, if you prevent them from jiggling, the muscle tissue gets weaker / looser, thus, sagging boobs.

2. Bras have a purpose so I wear them. They keep my boobs right where I want them and prevent me from nipping out.
