Short shorts with smooth legs on a guy. What do you think?

I've been shaving my legs for ten years, although since I started electrolysis treatments two years ago, slowly there is nothing left to shave. Since the electro I have no razor bumps, and as I don't have to hide ugly red dots, my shorts gradually switched from knee-high to really short ones. The short I'm showing on my profile is one of the longest ones. The shortest one is a 2" inseam denim cutoff.

Apart from a few strange looks now and then (mostly from dudes) the only person who had negative comments about it is my mother.

So I'd like to hear opinions, even if they are very negative.

As long as you're okay with some strange looks and maybe even some hateful comments, then go for it. I personally don't mind it. My boyfriend shaves his legs too and bares his legs when it's just the two of us around the house. It's like we compete for best legs. But he wears longer shorts in public mainly just to avoid the negative comments and attention. So just know that you will receive mostly negative attention in public, but if you're okay with that, then go for it and wear what you want to wear. It's really too bad, because I tend to like nice guy legs, but unfortunately that is the truth.

So regardless of if you're straight or gay, wearing short shorts will cause people to assume you are gay. Even though it's been solidly proven that is not the case. The truth is the way a person dresses has little to no relation to that person's sexual preference. In fact, the vast majority of gay men dress more masculine, because that is what they are attracted to. While most cross-dressers (not that short shorts on a guy is cross-dressing-maybe just slightly gender-bending lol) are actually straight.

So I guess my very long answer to your question is: Wear short shorts if you like, but just expect to receive not-so-friendly feedback.

Actually I've never had ANY comments in 10 years (since I quit having leg hair). I sometimes catch dudes staring my legs, and last summer I had a girl really watching them at a local caf?, and I could read from her eyes that she did not like what she saw. Apart from these I sometimes see girls watching them and smiling.

And that's it. I wonder anybody would notice if I wore mini skirts, though I'm not planning to :).

I agree w/ Mr. 'Anon' . I shave my legs, & also my entire body bald & hairless. From my neck to toes- bald. Only place on my body- my arms. I keep them trimmed short & use hair dye to keep them bleached blonde. I also wear short shorts. I like to wear 'tiny' sometimes. Have several pairs size #1; juniors micro mini shorts I wear. I'm always 'covered [[front] & decent;;; but barely. Sometimes I'll get 'brave' & pull them up. This will expose 1/4 to 1/2" of my naked shaved butt cheeks. I've gotten frowns, cold words & reactions; mostly from guys. In mall a bit back. Girls were taking photos w/ cell cameras. Another time.. guy came up to help me load air conditioner. He said "I looked hot"; & asked me for sex. NO- never have or will w/ a male. I love the ladies! I'm not gay or bi; but am "Andro".

I agree with you Taianav. In the 50's my parents had decided to keep me in short trousers up to the end of my junior college at 18 years for the reason that I wasn't mature enough to wear long pants like the adults. I remember that classical shorts for boys at that time were very short. I can tell you that I never received any negative comment from the other students or the people , maybe some people staring my legs or watching them with some bewilderment. Just temporarilay embarrassing and annoying I had no inkling that wearing short trousers could be related to sexuality. You are absolutely right to think that the way a person dresses had no relation to that person's sexual preference. The people of that era, in any case didn't even notice if I was wearing long or short pants Please, guys, wear short shorts if you like but don't give a damn to those who look up your shorts.

Turn off in my opinion and to be completely honest it looks a little gay. If you really are gay then cool but if you're straight I don't see many girls being attracted to that look. Personally I prefer hairy men, guys are supposed to be hairy IMO, and I don't like short shorts on guys either.

Actually I got negative comments from gay guys too (elsewhere). I can't control my desires as to what they make me look like. I can only control what I'm willing to do to fulfill them.

Sure, I saw photos on the internet showing girls and dudes in ridiculously short shorts with genitals nearly sticking out (luckily not IRL). And while I might keep on testing peoples' thresholds with the shortness and tightness of my shorts, I surely will never wear anything which reveals anything inmodest.

The shaving part is whatever hairy or not inc, I have a lot of baseball guy friends that shave, but the booty shorts...NO. lol only one that should be wearing em is your woman. How would you feel if your mom wore shorts that short?!

I would find the short shorts very very unattractive. I don't really like hairy guys, but I do find it odd that you shave your legs.

It's really up to you how you dress so don't take this to heart but in my opinion, save the short-shorts for girls. Smooth legs on guys- I've got no problem with them. :)

It's kind of interesting to see how much more smooth legs are accepted (at least by 19 comments) then short shorts. I'm curious how this will change in the future. In the past years my only option was to buy pants and (longer) shorts and take them to the tailors to get them cut to my taste This year I could by a few items at H&M which needed no cutting, including the one on my profile. I just rolled it one more to get it to the maximum length I like.

Ummm... I'm not sure it looks okay on you because you're skinny and don't really have that muscular. Build but, on most guys it wouldn't.

I still don't think they look that great on you though, your short guy shorts look like long girl shorts, and if you tried short girl shorts (stops right under your butt) known as daisy dukes, people would probably know you're gay.

As far as smooth legs I think it's so sexy I find hair that's not on your head or face unattractive!

I did try girl shorts, but I did not like them. Guy shorts cut to 2" inseam look different than 2" girl shorts, even if they have the same color.. Maybe just the knowledge that they were female shorts, I don't know.
