Do girls like empathetic guys?

I guess you could say I have a sensitive soul. I'm not a pushover or spineless or anything, but I tend to be in touch with my emotional side. Example, crying babies make me upset. When I see or hear a baby crying it breaks my heart. I am able to understand people's misfortunes and feel the same emotions they are going through. When people are upset or having a hard time I can empathise with them and I end up feeling down. My friend opened up to me the other day after he had a few beers and explained to me how he has had a hard life and how he wishes his mother never gave him away at birth. Man, I felt blue when he was telling me all this!

Would girls ever date a guy like me? Or do I seem like a complete pansy? I'm straight btw.

No way! You are a human being so many guys have their humanity robbed from them when they pretend to be these emotionless, sex robots. No woman that wants a serious relationship, that wants a man to be the father of her children to be like that with no compassion. On my list of qualities for my drea guy Compassion and Empathy are my number one and 2 because if someone has empathy you can work through anything because they have the ability to put themselves in others' shoes. It's a sign that you are a mature well rounded person. If a girl doesn't want a man that feels sorry for others in bad positions or babies crying good luck to them, they;ll need it. As a girl, it is so rare to find guys like you please, please, please don't change a thing!

I'm also very empathetic. I'm traumatized every time I see a torture scene in a movie. :P I'm not sure how that would work out. On the one hand, it means we understand each other possibly better than anyone else could. On the other hand, what would it be like with two highly empathetic people in the same house? I'm a little curious to see how that would affect the relationship.

Well, its a good thing. Empathy is very important in human beings. I like guys who care about others. It shows he's a good person. but it is a turn off if he cries about everything and is overly emotional. I can't even have female friends who are like that. It makes me feel awkward and I'm very empathetic myself.

personally,yes. I think it's one of those opposites attract things,since I have no real empathy. as long as you're not crying over everything. I don't know how to deal with that link

Most attractive feature in males behaviour in my opinion. I can only date really empathetic and kind people. Very rare to find a guy who is genuinely kind.
