In Japan, a friendship marriage, refers to a type of marriage where two individuals enter into a marital relationship primarily for companionship and mutual support only. No romantic love/ sexual
attraction is required.
These marriages are often seen as a practical solution for individuals who desire companionship, emotional support, and the benefits that come with marriage, but may not necessarily seek a romantic or passionate relationship coz there is no sex involved. These marriages are based on friendship, trust, and shared values, rather than romantic love. In a friendship marriage, the couple may choose to live together, share household responsibilities, and support each other in various aspects of life. While they may not have a romantic or sexual relationship, they still value each other's company and enjoy spending time together.

I always think of myself as very straightforward and someone who appreciates the opportunity to be direct (direct in terms of honesty if not brevity) to make sure that things don’t get unnecessarily confusing. I suppose we can I say I believe very strongly in being direct. I absolutely have no interest in being evasive…

However, in practice, often times when met with specific situations, I’m surprised at how NON-ecstatic I am to discuss things. (Not thinking of anything in particular at the moment, I’m just reflecting overall)

I think I’m finding a discrepancy between my opinion of how direct I am and how actually direct I am in ALL situations. Of course it’s Fairly easy to be direct about something that you want to be directed, but of course.

And of course we’re all going to have behavioral practices that differ from our ideas of how we behave but I think usually there there’s a pretty strong overlap. Well I guess unless you’re totally delusional, but let’s take for granted most of us aren’t totally delusional..

I think im _not_ direct a lot more often than I think i am. At least I WANT to be. That’s important 😅

Anyhow, I don’t know what stops me… True, it’s uncomfortable but I think 78% of my life has been uncomfortable so I don’t see that as being the main culprit. I don’t know firsthand that information is way worse in the long run.

Maybe I’m fairly certain they’re not going to understand if I try to explain and so I’m just saving us both time by saying nothing 🤔 that’s possible.

For me high school was not that Long ago, and I remember having this crush. I would always dress up and go out of my way to draw this person's attention, heck my one friend suggested that I cut my hair, which I didn't want to do.. despite this I did get noticed, but by guys I wasn't into. The person I liked however liked other girls that were at the Time competing for his attention. And they were far prettier than me. In senior year, I gave up and unleashed my Tomboy side and I attracted unwanted attention..

Like why do we always wait for him to make the first move?

It’s been a year and I can’t seem to get over the hurt he caused.. I feel hopeless and I feel that I’m at risk for losing everything I worked hard for including my teaching license because I can’t get my mental health together that is revolving around him. I hate him.

I went on a date with a guy that ended up only wanting something casual after I expressed to him that I didn’t want that and he made it seem like he wanted something more.. and it hurt because of how he made me feel initially.

then I found out he’s possibly bisexual and has an attraction to trans women and that caused more anger on top of him disrespecting and disregarding me. It’s like I was nothing… he lied, manipulated and then insulted me in the end.

he doesn’t fully understand the pain he caused by being a selfish liar.. and then to know I’m a hurt or wounded individual and he really played on that. It’s sick

Just saw a post where someone was asking about persistence. Whether persistence is a typical behavior or not typical in certain people when interest exist, or if it even an indication of interest itself as apposed to simply desperation…

and so now I’m wondering what people think persistence is. If there is a communion agreement in what that means, or if there’s a huge variation in how we define it.

so what would you all call persistence towards a person of personal interest?

Let’s put it in terms of asking them out because That’s a pretty basic common denominator form of showing interest, and I only have one pole to use.

And yes I understand this is a fake movie but maybe it's a bit telling in a way of society that women would choose to love a ugly man yet when thinking about it in reverse tho I don't think the story would be the same or even make sense. Like men can be shallow when it comes to choosing women based of looks. Not even giving a ugly woman a chance...
