What are your views on Japan's trending friendship marriages? Is it worth it? What would you choose: friendship marriage or traditional marriage and why?

In Japan, a friendship marriage, refers to a type of marriage where two individuals enter into a marital relationship primarily for companionship and mutual support only. No romantic love/ sexual
attraction is required.
These marriages are often seen as a practical solution for individuals who desire companionship, emotional support, and the benefits that come with marriage, but may not necessarily seek a romantic or passionate relationship coz there is no sex involved. These marriages are based on friendship, trust, and shared values, rather than romantic love. In a friendship marriage, the couple may choose to live together, share household responsibilities, and support each other in various aspects of life. While they may not have a romantic or sexual relationship, they still value each other's company and enjoy spending time together.

It’s not worth it to men. Men pretty much do a lot of that regardless w their female friends. Especially w female friends they want to sleep w or be in an actual relationship w. Most women have a man who would simp for them. Most men don’t. So she’s able to get that boyfriend treatment w out having to engage w him sexually. That’s an L for all men. I’m sure some men would go for it though especially if they’re weak men who can’t meet a girl. I’ve never had a girl take care of me financially, I do it that they would do it in that type of relationship. Again it only benefits the female. I think regardless women would still be the ones who get to pick who to be in a “friendship marriage” w, a majority at least. Men not so much especially because supposedly women find about 80% of men unattractive.

I don't understand the point. Why not just be friends and live together? It cheapens the concept of marriage between a man and a woman for no reason. Seems to me to be yet one more woke perversion of reality like the concept of men having babies or tampons in boy's bathrooms.

I think a lot more families would stay together if they would transition to this after the sex was gone, then the husband could go get sex wherever he wanted without affecting the wife. And vice-versa if she wanted, but usually it's the man.

What would keep one of them from seeking sexual relationship outside of marriage if one decided they wanted more? It doesn't seem to work for priests and nuns, so I can't see it working here, as feelings can change. Then what?

Going to have to disagree with Japan on this one. That sounds utterly ridiculous. Why would you need to get married for that? Can't friends do all that without marriage?

At first I thought this was going to be about friendships that turned into a marriage, which I fully support. I do think people need to be friends with someone before moving on to lovers.

Brilliant solution Requiring sex is the worst aspect of traditional marriage because it requires that your partner be at least somewhat attractive, which is often unrealistic in U. S.

What do I think of friendship marriages? I think they're fantastic. However, having been in several relationships that would probably qualify as friendship only arrangements, I'm much happier and more fulfilled if I know she's having sex with another guy fairly regularly.
