FUN FACT: Only 1% of the artifacts that the British museum holds are on display. This prevents the entire planet from engaging with world history. Do they have the right to deny us our planetary heritage?

There are a number of arguments AGAINST returning artifacts to their countries of origin, including:

Safety: The artifacts may not be safe in their new location.

Loss of artifacts: Museums would lose many of their artifacts, which could make them nearly empty.

Visitor numbers: Museums would lose their most prominent artifacts, which could hurt their ability to attract visitors.

Economic loss: Museums and private companies would lose financial opportunities.

Lack of facilities: The source country may not have the proper facilities or personnel to receive the artifacts.

Unclear destination: The ancient kingdoms from which the artifacts came may no longer exist, or they may be spread across multiple modern countries.

Colonialism: Returning artifacts obtained during colonialism does not make up for the destruction of colonialism.

Legal acquisition: Most objects in museums were legally obtained and have no reason to be repatriated.

There are a number of arguments FOR return to indigenous cultures:

Cultural objects, as part of cultural and political identity, belong with the civilizations that developed them.

Stolen or plundered property should be restored to its rightful owner because it is ethically correct.

The greatest way to appreciate and comprehend art is in its original context.

I already voted a few days ago. I also made sure to carefully research all the local amendments, candidates and propositions. Too many Americans are naive about how much local policies impact their lives. Many people don’t even know anything about of their home state’s congressman and senators.

Anyway if you are too lazy to vote yet still complain about politicians and their policies then you are part of the problem.

While I do understand both candidates can suck you should at least vote for the lesser of two evils or a 3rd party candidate.

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

This question is in response to a post I seen on social media, a person of color called out a white woman for being racist for trying to dictate who he and other's of his race should feel.

As an independent, it's been my experience that people on the left are far less tolerant of opposing views then people on the right. It's not that I share a lot views with people on the right (I don't as I have a mix of views from all over the political spectrum), it just that, in my experience, they tend to be more tolerant and don't get as hateful and toxic as the left does when you have a view they don't agree with. I had friends over the years from the left and right, and can honestly I have lost more friends that were leftist over disagreements then I have friends that were rightist.
