before any of you jump the gun and claim that I'm a victim blamer I like to point out that I'm well aware that rape is a very traumatic experience. I myself am no stranger when it comes to trauma so I should know that like any other victims of trauma people who were unfortunate to endure rape often times do not want to REMEMBER such experience. so they...

- Dont want to think about it

- Avoid hearing anything that relates to it

- (most importantly) dont want to TALK about it

it might also explain why so many rape victims dont bother to report their incident. so with all that said I now have a 6th sense and that is to never believe women who I just met or dont know personally when they say they were victims of rape. to me if a woman does not hesistate to scream that "she was raped" from the top of a mountain without feeling any sort of trauma, anxiety, or shame then is obvious to me that she is lying or orchastrated the incident in her head.

she is most likely trying to avoid accountability by claiming that she was forced into it or simply trying to use this as a way to gaslight you once you start to feel the false sympathy for her that she wants you to feel.

till then this tweet explains it better than I do. I should also know cause a girl who I almost dated was a prime example of this. she claimed her ex raped her the night she lost her virginity but then her story started to sound like horseshit to me when we cut each other lose and she would shame me for being a virgin while she was not; like who the fuck would be happy to lose their virginity via rape?

Let’s remove the ‘impulsively’ part since it is probably just generalizing all victims of rape, incest, sex trafficking, child sexual abuse, sexual assault, groping, molestation, etc. Each case of a woman getting raped should be looked at as an individual case just like a man, although I believe it is off putting to more victims from being able to come forward when there is a mob mentality to silence, belittle, assault, and threaten those coming forward of abuse. Johnny Depp is a victim of abuse from Amber Heard, so I would like more Depps (which can be women) to go against their Heards (which can be men).

Justice, accountability, and closure are what true victims are after when an abusive piece of shit has gotten away with so much…. On GAG, one user claimed ALL Indian women who come forward about their personal struggles of sexual assault / abuse / rape are coming forward for attention which is awful since a friend of mine only told me about sexual assault for advice how to avoid or fight off the offender & second for comfort from a friend she could trust. I will never turn my back on victims and I will always speak out for those who feel silenced.

Women who are able to talk about instances like that without shame, anxiety or hesitation aren’t always making it up. Often it can actually mean that they’ve been through a lot of therapy to work past it, and that makes it easier to open up and talk about it. Im someone who can easily talk about the assaults I’ve experienced due to extensive therapy and counselling over the years.

But of course, there are exceptions to that. There are people who lie about rape, though it’s uncommon. I had an ex who lied about being gangraped, for sympathy and attention seeking. It is up to you as an individual to decide whether they’re being honest or not. But I think it’s stupid to immediately jump the gun and label someone as a liar only because they aren’t ashamed of their trauma or have no difficulty opening about it.

Rape is a crime like any other. If my friend lies and says I stole his car after he let me borrow it? Does that mean the police shouldn't investigate all stolen car complaints. Worse no one gets ostracized or publicly humiliated for claiming auto theft. So why do we believe it's more likely for a rape claim to be fake as opposed to other crime your own logic is upside down? It's a crime. If you take the word rape out and put let's say.. Arson... you wouldn't dismiss it. Walk away from the idea that false accusations are the norm.

Sadly it is possible for a man to be having consensual sex while the woman considers she is being raped.

A case I know of was a woman was taking a short cut along a dark lane at night and a car pulled up and the driver asked "Wanna fuck". In her relating, she was scared at what might happen so she hoped into the back seat and engaged in sexual intercourse.

The guy undoubtedly thought he had got lucky. This woman considered herself raped, though from my point of view, she wanted to over share to the point of enjoying doing so.

It is not hard to construct hypotheticals like this real event.

Always difficult when a woman mentions her rape. You can't ask what happened but it demands a response. Saying I'm sorry that happened to you seems inadequate.

I'm not going to assume a women is entirely without complicity but might well be. Another female friend was having a shower and her housemate came in and raped her in the shower.

Women are usually full of shit, and they're attention hungry. Claiming they're a victim is a way to get attention. I'd pay real close attention to if she's just saying it or if she's actually fucked up from it.

Fun fact, did you know actual rape victims usually feel guilty because they had orgasms to it? They didn't like it, but they liked it. Don't believe me, then watch '50 Shades of Gray' or something... come back and call me a liar.

Now if it was a traumatic rape... like a real rape rape... why is she telling people about it for attention instead of going to the authorities? It's just a question that is food for thought. I mean think about it...

I think most women - or at least the ones I know - who don't talk about it easily, or only tell you it happened to them when they feel comfortable, aren't lying about it. Those are usually the true cases, and often stuff that happened to them years ago that they're still struggling with, even if they don't realize it.

Women who are quicker to say somebody did something to them, I would probably be a little more hesitant about. Like I said, in my experience knowing them, most rape victims do not just put that out there unless they feel comfortable enough with you to talk about it or they need someone to hear it.

let's say "not anymore". because the term rape has gotten softer and softer. like traditionally rape meant for example "a man stuck his penis inside your vagina against your explicit denial of consent". but these days, sexual assault which may be a small inappropriate thing like a slap on the ass or even just a funny look is used synonymously with rape. so no. i do not believe this bs anymore. and i feel sorry for the actual rape victims but this is the fault of these morons who constantly are trying to get attention even tho nothing happened to them.

Most reported rapes are real. I don't have the exact number at my fingertips, but it's over 90% of reported rapes are legitimate. Having said that, well over 95% of rapes are never reported. My sister has been raped at least 3 times (I only heard of 3), she's reported one. You might not believe her because you don't know her, but I see her trauma easily. She NEVER wears her hair up, she used to. She NEVER goes anywhere alone, she used to. There's a third thing, but her engagement probably has more to do with it than as a result of being raped.

I don't know any women that have admitted to being raped. I am not sure there is any right or wrong way for a victim to behave. I am sometimes skeptical of people who like to talk about having certain traumas like tough parents, to me those people are all too often exaggerating or even completely lying to excuse being a bad adult. I agree that most legitimate trauma victims dislike discussing their trauma and don't feel proud of it, but I don't believe we should discount victims who are open too. It is a case by case thing.
