Nakedness represents shame, just like in the real world, and of course, people in hell are shamed as hell (get it? :D) they are also helpless, weak, and unprotected, and any kind of punishment will strike their body directly.
While on the other hand, people in heaven are depicted as wearing clothes because they're pure, they're beautiful on the inside and so they should be on the outside, they're safe and of course, modesty is one of the most important things in religion, so it would only make sense if they were clothed in heaven :3

Renaissance art is filled to the brim with symbolism. It probably represents humiliation and shame. In biblical times one would tear the clothes off of themselves to symbolism grief and shame
Sex/nakedness symbolizes presumably evilness.
It comes often in all three sister-religions like Judaism, Islam and Christianity.
Sex is often determined as losing your innocence.
When a woman meets a man they are not supposed to have sex until marriage. So they can keep loyalty and safety.
I mean nakedness is usually considered as a sexual content.
Or it could just be that nakedness symbolizes being poor and inappropriate?
It’s weird because Adam and Eve were originally naked until they were punished and began to cover up their nakedness.
To me it seems like painters have used their depictions of heaven and hell as propaganda. They know people have feelings of anxiety and immodesty when naked in front of strangers so they have depicted that in hell.
Maybe because the clothes would burn up in the flames? If I were told to paint people in a pit of fire, I wouldn't see the point of adding clothing either.
Maybe they got burned by the fire. There's no fire in heaven, so maybe that's why their clothes aren't burned.

There was a study... can't name it or point you in the right direction, but you'll be able to find it... with brain scans and all that and it showed that the religious people and highly sexual people had the same part of the brain light up when they got their stimulus.
In my opinion, I think if you dig down real deep into it you're going to find a lot of simularities between the highly sexual liberated types and the highly concervitive religious types.
Now to answer your question about why the naked bodies in hell pictures... well, same with a bunch of heaven pictures right? If you believe in hell, sorry, but you're the religious type otherwise you would't believe in that shit, like I don't. But they both display plenty of art with genitals barely not showing. Just look at all the dudes that the Ninja Turtles got named after... total fags in my book, just by looking at their work. You can't tell me they didn't dream about cock all day every day despite putting on the posture of being highly religious.
I'd say because being naked was not considered... strong? I don't know, naked people symbolised the poor, sinners etc. Only the rich ones could afford clothes. Basically, being naked also symbolises weakness
Hmm... My guess is that nakedness is supposed to depict shame and vulnerability in these paintings. And clothes might symbolise dignity and protection maybe?
I've never thought of that before maybe people in hell are painted without clothing is maybe because in hell they are rendered completely bare and defenseless while in Heaven people are given fine stuff like the most pretty stuff to wear.
Holy shit. It should actually be the other way around, considering that being ashamed of your natural body is basically a sin.
It's mostly believes
Usually aggressiveness pain suffering and... pointed as nude both in art and religious
In art Elfen Lied / Silent Hill 2 is a great example
In common usually people believe when there's nothing to hide it's purest form of humanCause it’s hot as fuck your clothes tend to burn off in 1000 degree weather duhhhh
Because they are in hell, they are not gifted the same way people are in heaven.
I never realized it so all those painting like with where the people are need there in hell?
Church hates naked bodies
To the point of considering bathing a sin in medieaval timesI assume so because clothes are a symbol of dignity and material wealth. Nakedness represents vulnerability
In heaven we will have white robes so we won't be naked. Hell I think being naked would be not being pure and having shame and feeling guilty.
In the Bible’s depictions of the residents of heaven, clothing is often mentioned. There is never a hint that anyone there is unclothed.
Because their nakedness is an analogy for their sin being exposed.
Hell is where all the fun people go sooooo... does that answer your question?
Sistine Chapel:
www.nerve.com/.../mike7.pngAnti-hell propoganda. It's actually quite nice down here.
because hell is portrayed to be a place people don't wanna be. do you wanna be naked among many people? probably no. that's why hell is depicted like that.
i am surprised nobody wrote "kuz hot" so no shirt etc. but heaven pleasant.
Because hell has a higher temperature so you dont need clothes.
