Unlike in arab nations where they drink camel urine directly Cow urine was not recommended to to drink directly, In old system of ayurvedic medicines, the cow urine was used to extract ammonia to mix with other herbs,(only cow since they considered other cattles not good) and it is called "ark" which generally means fresh distilled herbs. When herbs are boiled , the steam is collected, cooled and liquefied to make ark. Also they used to treat cow urine and cow dung as floor disinfectants in older times.
