We humans love to debunk each others' religious beliefs, because in doing so it makes us feel that our intellect is superior. Here are some examples of how people try to make themselves feel like they are smarter than "religious nuts."
"What? You really think a man was born of a virgin and then walked on water? Ok dumbass."
"What? You really believe there were gods that flew around in the sky and fired thunderbolts. Have you ever heard of science, you freaking idiot?"
But for skeptics like this, my question is. Aren't you the one in denial? Every ancient civilization has so-called "myths" about gods and goddesses intervening in human life.
Are all of your ancestors simply crazy? Imagining things? Documenting imaginary events because they had nothing better to do? Building temples for the "gods" that look like landing pads for flying sauces, oh yeah, because they were just idiots.
Could we not just stop all this pointless bickering if you would just face the facts, that the earth was inhabited by aliens from outer space? Now, imagine you are the alien whose job it is to seed the Earth with life. What are you going to tell your experiments? "I'm your creator," that's what you're going to tell them.

I don't deny that. Do I believe it? No. I've never seen evidence for extra terrestrial habitation with no alternate explanation. I can't say extra terrestrials definitely did not inhabit the earth, I simply have no reason to believe they did, therefore I'm not in denial. Hence, your question is based on a false assumption and therefore, the only answer is mu (negative). A question based on an untruth requires no answer other than to point out the untruth.
However, I'll be more charitable than that. So let's paraphrase your question into one which isn't just a puerile slight on sceptics, but a question which warrants civil discussion. You have more than one question in this, so let's start simple.
Are there archaeological discoveries which are better explained by extra-terrestrial engineering as opposed to human? To answer this, let's look at a couple of examples of human ingenuity which were somewhat extraordinary. There's no better example of this than Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. Old Al worked this out himself and we have no reason to suspect he had help from extra terrestrials. But is this a one off example? No. Isaac Newton discovered the laws of gravity and invented calculus - with no help from extra terrestrials. Archimedes discovered the relation between the surface and volume of a sphere and its circumscribing cylinder. These examples are a drop in the ocean compared to the copious amount of examples of human ingenuity available. So we can confidently establish humans are capable of complex initiative. Pythagoras is credited with the discovery of what we refer to as Pythagoras theorem which states that the area of the square whose side is the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares on the other two sides. However there is evidence Egyptians knew the 3,4,5 relationship well before Pythagoras and there is even better evidence that the Babylonians did. In any case, we have established that humans are capable of working out Pythagorean and Euclidean geometry. This serves as a better explanation for how humans have been capable of designing and building structures such as pyramids than a far fetched extra terrestrial explanation.
That still leaves us with the question of why did some structures appear to have "landing pads" on them? One thing to take into account is that humans were highly superstitious. This level of superstition lead to some pretty barbaric practices such as human sacrifices and we know than in the case of the Mayans, they purposely built altars with high platforms to perform human sacrifices because they believed the gods will see them better if they were higher and therefore closer to where they believed the gods were. In fact, they believed the efficacy of the sacrifice would increase if they could hold the still beating heart to the sky and the younger the victim, the greater the reward. So that alone serves as a better explanation than landing pads for aliens.
However, we do have billions of years of life on earth before humans existed. Could there have been extra terrestrials here before that time? Or could the first life come from outer space?
To answer the first question, nay, to ask if we have evidence extra terrestrials inhabited prehistoric Earth, we have the fossil record to go on and rather than it showing evidence of extra terrestrials, we actually haven't found any and have only found evidence of evolution by natural selection. Less ancient but predating the agricultural revolution, DNA evidence from both human and animal bones also supports the theory of evolution.
So that brings us to the final question. Could the first life have come from outer space? Possibly. However, we now have the technology to use biochemistry which we believe existed on the early earth to ourselves create protocells. That is to say we can make organic cells from inorganic material. So we have concerned beyond reasonable doubt that life starts as a result of chemistry. The only question is did that happen on earth or did it happen in outer space and spread to earth on a meteorite? If it was the latter, that life would technically be alien life. This is a long shot from little green men in space ships though. It is also probably more likely that the Earth was the place with the right chemistry to produce life anyway. It at least definitely had most pieces of the puzzle. It is not that out there to suggest some vital ingredients came from space though.
So with all that explanation, it doesn't leave much plausibility for Earth having ever been inhabited by space aliens and I haven't even gone into the difficulties that theory would face given the unfathomably vast cosmological distances involved.
Good points. My mind remains open. One correction, though, if you ask the Mayans who built their temples, they themselves will tell you the 'sky people.' There's no reason not to believe they sacrificed humans on top of the landing pad because they thought it would coax down the UFOs.
Archaeological evidence tells us the building of mayan temples was a communal effort. Nobility as well as priests helped with the labor. It would've been these higher status people who learnt the engineering know how. Their exact methods remain a mystery, partly because the Spanish destroyed thousands of books, codices and manuscripts when they invaded Mayan territory, believing them to be blasphemous.
I'm not sure if they had a concept of UFOs. But who knows.
Religion, deities and ancient aliens all stem from the same 2 things. We desperately want a reason/explanation as to why things happen without us knowing the answer. For ancient civilizations this could be anything like the sun, the weather, childbirth, pests, eclipses, illness, luck, death and so forth. Even today we have no real answers for what happens after death, why certain illnesses exist, what's beyond the observable universe or a definitive answer to how everything came to be or what was before that. Aliens fit the same narrative for some of these. For ancient times the lights up above were a mystery, some even move. So many weird creatures and then there is us. We're so different, so much more advanced. That can't be natural right? And in more modern times we question architecture, its creation and its purpose. Ancient civilizations couldn't possible have done that by hand right? And why did they build it? What does it all mean? The second thing is hope. Everyone has their moments of despair. There are countless situations of danger, grief and facing certain doom. In these moments we can feel completely alone. Because even your loved ones can't help. You are completely helpless, but want more than anything for there to be someone or something greater than yourself that could aid you. This is where the gods come to play. They are a manifestation of hope. Hope for a better day, hope for suffering to go away, hope for something more after death.

The fact that almost every culture on earth has creation myths, points to such religious thinking just being a mistake early people were prone to. Human brains are pattern seeking to a fault. I could flip this on its head and say that if all humans were indeed visited by aliens, then why don't they all have *the same* creation myth? Instead you have wildly varying claims that are not all congruent.
As for 'landing pads', no. Definitely not. If you're talking about the various pyramid-esque buildings a couple of different cultures have, that's because it's easier to stack stones in that shape and it's fairly sturdy. It's a much simpler solution than 'aliens landed there'.
You need evidence to support the claim of alien visitors. Not just twisting theologies and making wild claims about vaguely similar structures.
Also, it just dawned on me - Why the hell would an advanced interplanetary species even need these awkward triangular landing pads? What, they can fly across solar systems but haven't perfected the idea of a landing gear?
Yes but where is your evidence that ancient human beings could position granite stones, weighing 50-100 tons, that were cut with such accuracy that they fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle? How did they do it? You talk about it like they were little kids stacking up stones into a 'fairly sturdy' shape. On the contrary, they were practically indestructible.
Why did they build them? Imagine that you are an alien and you need to land your flying saucer in a way that did not endanger the life that you are seeding onto the planet, and also in a way that is safe for your aircraft.
If is not an argument from ignorance because it accounts for all possibilities. The premise is that a higher intelligence created ancient structures. Humans are a form of higher intelligence, however they were not capable at that time to create these structures. Therefore, another form of higher intelligence must have created them.
Furthermore, if you and I have difficulty explaining how pyramids were built, if even modern man would be challenged by building these structures, then we're back to the question of why? Why would ancient civilizations build something that was so incredibly difficult to build?
I'll just say 'I don't know' with regards to 'why' these structures were built. Because I'm not asserting a positive claim about what their purpose was or how they were constructed.
