Do you agree with President Madison?

HELL YES! I'll go one further. Religions assets should be taxed! Want a seat at the policy table? Ante up! I'm a militant atheist tho, I give no fucks for ANY religion.
yes, congress should not declare a state religion. That's in the First Amendment along with the freedom to worship as we see fit.

Considering it is a fraudulent quote how could anyone agree with James Madison about something he never said. Your quote doesn't exist within the James Madison Papers. It is a fictitious attribution to James Madison by James A. Haugt who made it up out of thin air for his book 2000 Years of Disbelief: Famous People with the Courage to Doubt. Satanist like to do that... You know lie about shit to attack Christianity.
Which is why Europe shipped of as many religious nutters as possible. As things like abortion are solely political, a US politician would never bring God and religion in to politics….
while there were some religious wars in Europe. The vast majority were scrambles for power, increasing size of their country, it just happened religion decided which side people were on.. but not always.
“ while there were some religious wars in Europe.”
SOME?

🤦♂️🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂
SOME?
😂
@Agagagagaga the vast majority were political. While religion was often a deciding part on who were on what side, it was kings, governments using that to increase land and wealth.
@rebelinsteel Go on believing that. 😂 It doesn’t make it true. 🤦♂️
@Agagagagaga oh why is it not true?
What 5 major European wars could not have been prevented by a king or government?
In part, but that's less about religion and more about power- the Magna Carta put firm checks on the power of the king of England, but Henry forming the Church of England took power away from the Pope, and placed it in the hands of the king. In places like, say, Thailand, it's even worse (or was at the time, anyway).
No complete nonsense. Most European wars were caused by nobility scrambling for power or because they got slightly miffed about something.
that's true, outside the Thirty Years War, which started as a religious war, most wars were over land. There were religious persecutions in Europe against Jews, Protestants, Catholics, Muslims...
So, are you saying that he and other Founding Fathers were completely out of touch regarding the currents of their time?
No, they fitted their time perfectly. Their time not ours
So, do you disagree with the separation of Church and State? Because that's the actual point here.
I've no problem with that and largely agree with it. But why if that's so is the official motto of the us government "in god we trust" plus why do most Americans claim it's a Christian country? Why is so much of American politics aimed at appeasing hardcore Christians?
it depends on what you mean by that. Is it the literal interpretation of the First Amendment or is it what the courts decided in the middle of the last century?
i like that!
he was also even hinting to the wars between catholic - protestant in Ireland and germany etc.
Absolutely.
