What is demon face syndrome?

The condition varies from person to person but is characterized by a distortion of faces including features appearing droopy, smaller, larger, stretched, or in a different position

A man in Tennessee with good eyesight woke up one day to see his girlfriend and roommates' faces look demonic, in fear he rushed to the hospital and they told him he has demon face syndrome. Apparently 75 people have this demon face syndrome and it's a neurological thing.

Some people say if you have it you are really seeing demons and that you don't actually have a syndrome. Some say this confirms the validity of spirituality but what are your thoughts?

I did read an article on this some time last week... and it sounds quite disturbing

as some of the patients explained it, it didn't matter for long they've had it and how much they would assure themselves that it was a syndrome, they could just not help it but to lose their bonds with people and to struggle a whole lot with life and how messed up everything else would become

way too distracting and disturbing...

as I read in that article days ago... there's therapy and treatment available that can work for some, and it involves the use of lenses that can filter or manipulate an spectrum of light, and then it reduces the distortion perceived by our brains... so, there's hope too

@NathanDavis to me it sounds so sus why would they specifically calling it demon face syndrome? out of all the names in the world it kinda feels like they're trying to say something indirectly... Science can be right but sometimes its sketchy ngl 😂

well, they of course have a scientific name for it... and also a medical term, lol

but people just started to call it "demon face syndrome" although, according to the article... as much people do tend to describe their visions as dragon-like or fish-like... not always demon-like

also, almost half of the people only see half-face distortions... and a fraction of them will even see holes on someone's face or extra limbs coming out of places, just a very weird thing... so no wonder why people feel like something evil has gotten over them, but that is some effect and sense of paranoia taking over... stigma

I just saw an article on that a few days ago and I immediately wondered he must have a hard time dating, unless he's one of those guys who only cares about personality. Seriously though, that would be scary as hell to have that condition let alone tryng to explain it to people

Sounds like sleep paralysis which has a spiritual meaning to some people they say it's demonic others have a scientific explanation for it but I agree with you it's all pretty scary stuff for sure

The first thing to note is it has nothing to do with spiritual matters. It's simply a defect in the way the brain perceives faces. I imagine it could be quite distressing though.

Yes I hear you!!! to some it does have to do with spirituality because of the name demon and because some religions do have a religion/spiritual explanation for this syndrome.
