Why is there no general agreement on what is the original text of the Bible?

That's what happens when a bunch of people make up stories thousands of years ago then different governments get a hold if it to change it so they can control mass populations
Because "the Bible" is composed of dozens of books written by dozens of people over thousands of years.

Because there was no "original".
It's a collection of various gospels, scrolls and the letters of Paul. None of which were seen or even authored by its alleged central character: Jesus. who was actually Jewish and preached mostly the Torah!
This is why I want NOTHING to do with any religion claiming to be based on a book of questionable origin! It's insane!
there is.
you are asking why is the sky never blue.
but it is blue.
the original old testament is hebrew it has many translations.general agreement on what is the original text of the new testament is greek.
many translations called versions.
not different STORIES but same story in different words for example "in the place of his father" or "in the room of his father " SAME STORY.
Because there is no original bible. It's a collection of scrolls written in several languages and dialects that have come together over the centuries. Languages don't always translate directly word for word and so differences creep in.
Because we (their religion) must alway be right and correct.
Why is there no general agreement on the text of the Koran?
Good question!
that would involve people actually knowing the real history of the Bible and not just the version of history they want it to be
says anonymous... as if zero christians ever went to Bible colleges. s. m. h.
