Why does evil exist?

Extremely difficult question to answer and very subjective.

Honestly, if I could remove all murderers, rapists, people who abuse others, people who steal things that others worked very hard for or things that are valuable to them, etc. from the planet, I would in a heartbeat.

And while I do believe there are some people on the planet that are absolutely pure and have no hatred, greed, envy, or any other negative traits, I believe that those are extremely rare people.

The majority of humans have some negative traits in them and many are willing to screw others over for their own selfish desires. You can always tell someone's true nature when they're at rock bottom. When the have they're starving and on the brink of oblivion, and they're still willing to share what they have... that's a truly selfless person.

I don't really have answer for the question other than reality isn't perfect and it's unfair.

Evil, as a concept, didn't exist until we called it that. Before that, it was just nature. Animals kill each other. Eat their young. Steal from each other. Apes in the wild have even been observed waging war against other tribes. These behaviors aren't unique to humans and indeed, humans are animals like any other.

It is nature and as much as we like to pretend to be above it all, we aren't. We are driven by instinct, too. And under the right circumstances, even you would give in and do something "evil." Because that's how we're built.

The same reason salt exists freely, but sugar requires so much work to make.

We cannot know the opposite of things, and how they are better, if they are not experienced without effort and intention.

It's why (despite evolution theory) humans do not make serial killers and convicted criminals, the head of their communities.

It doesn't.
We can judge for something to be evil. An opinion if you will.
It can be shared among most people, a lot of people or even just you.
Evil is an opinion about an action.
Nothing more.
It's not something tangible.

Sometimes it's the difference life's upbringing evil can breed evil, also some peoples minds aren't wired the same from the start or brain injurys but it feels like the powers that be are trying to breed evil humans somehow 😔
