Should I become one of Jehovah's witnesses?

My husband and I we are now looking for a church. One of my friend and also co worker manager invited me to the kingdom Hall and two days ago my she came over and share a Bible lesson to me. Everyone was welcoming and nice. But I want to learn more do my research homework my husband and I makena big decisions here. We just left a toxic United Pentecostal church. What do you advice us or how is your experience as one of Jehovah's witnesses?

Unfortunately the JWs do not believe in the Holy Trinity as being the union of God the Father, Christ Jesus the son and the holy spirt as separate divine persons that together make up the Holy Trinity. They don't believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person and is just a power or active force of God. They also don't believe that Jesus is God. They use a "New World Bible" produced by thr wstch toerthat alters the words and names from as they were in the original transcripts. They don't believe the spirit or soul of a perdon remains after death and brlieve thst only 144, 0000 most faithful followers will be resurrected, which hoes completely against the words of Jesus " Believe on me and thou shalt be saved."Because of these differences although they may be "good persons," they fundamentally cannot proclaim themselves as true Christians. They also oppose their followers from using the life saving act of having a blood transfusion. They don't allow the donating of sperm or of the females eggs/zygotes, likewise they don't allow the usage of donated sperm or eggs/zygotes.

It really isn't that good of a religion to be in. While they'll look all nice and be friendly, they have very strict rules. Some rules I've heard of are: If you have friends, they must also be Jehovah Witnesses. You can't celebrate any holidays & birthdays. Magic of any kind is forbidden (even fictional), you don't question what Jehovah tells you to do, and there's many others. There's ex-Jehovah witnesses like "ExJW Panda Tower" and "Darth Magog" on Youtube that you could watch their videos about it. A lot of it is ridiculous if you ask me. And also horrifying at the same time. I feel bad for anyone who had to go through that.

I welcome anyone into my home to discuss their faith. My mother (rest in peace) was a good friend to a woman who was Jehovah's Witness and I went to HS with the woman's son and daughter.

I have been associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints... and I find them wonderful people.

No one says they are bad people, just misled by what their Bible, compared to the Christian Bible says. One thing a JW told me is that no matter what a person does, they are all forgiven in the end. And that only 144,000 will ascend to Heaven. The 144,000 in the Bible refers to the 12,000 witnesses from the 12 individual tribes of Israel that are going to be active during the Tribulation as witnesses for Christ. Also, a person is not forgiven unless they accept Christ as their Savior in that He took the punishment for their sins instead of them. Their punishment was separation from God for eternity. That's not a place you want to be as it is eternal darkness.

No, you should not, but if you could convince them to leave my country I would appreciate. This sect is a clever parasite, they can adapt their structure and recruitment methods to fit the laws of territories they want to conquer. Predators with tactics are the worst kind.

My main non-doctrinal issue with Jehovah's Witnesses is that they shun those who voluntarily leave. Why? Because they do not want current members to know why the people left. If you leave a Carholic or Baptist or Presbyterian, etc. church, there is not pronouncement from the pulpit that the members cannot speak with you. Because of that shunning dynamic of those who simply leave, I consider the JW's a cult.

@LiamJHayden I and Walter Martin, who wrote the Kingdom of the Cults, agree with you. There are some doctrinal issues between them and main-stream Christianity.

Pastor got angry because I help a lady pay for her medical bill and for tipping a waitress $100. The pastor insisted I should had donated that money to his church not the people who in my eyes do really needed it.
