For example, a belief in an afterlife is, to me, a useful crutch 🩼 because if there's the potential of an afterlife someday, then time really does become limitless - lol Bradley Cooper ref joke lol movie. A useful crutch?

It's a useful coping mechanism "even if there never ain't one long after this lifetime is said and done" - lol the crutch serves its coping mechanism usefulness regardless, true? 🩼 Lol lol 😆 wink

I think that's a huge draw for religion. People are afraid of dying so they make up all sorts of stories on why they don't have to die. They also don't like the idea of their loved one dyings, so they use the same story to console themselves about their dead friends and relatives.

LOL, you need to educate yourself better, then.

There is no "crutch" for what is something beyond finite understanding. Everyone dies, what comes after that is not something anyone can change with mere belief or disbelief.

Hence it's atheists and deniers who are using their ignorance as a crutch. Just because you are choosing ignorant, does not mean the laws don't apply.

If there is "nothing" then we've done good regardless. But if there is an Afterlife, then you're fucked by default.
