As guys workout and get bigger their old shirts no longer fit right. Should they continue wearing their old shirts as a tighter fit (possibly skin tight) or go up to their new chest size?

For example, in t-shirts I normally wear a size large for my natural body weight without exercising. But now my chest and shoulders are growing larger to where I’ve actually gone up from a size large to XL.

XL shirts fit me comfortably the way I like, the way L shirts used to fit me a few months ago.

But I’m not sure what looks better. I definitely get annoyed by skin tight clothing and just want to rip it off right away. But XL shirts don’t always fit my waist. They hang on my shoulders and chest perfectly, and my arms fit the sleeves, but the waist tapers down and hangs off my hips because some XL’s are designed for fat guys.

What do you all think? Keep L shirts or go to XL shirts?

I added some photos of Henry Cavil from ‘Man of Steel’ since his body type and ethnicity resemble my own and added shots of him during the movie shirtless for reference, in a tight fit shirt and in looser fitting shirts.

What’s more attractive? A big and swole strong body or a lean and ripped body? Why?

Sometimes I go for a swim at the beach. The other day I nearly drowned hahaha! Even though I'm an experienced swimmer, I was not far but a bit out into the water catching the waves and got stuck in a rip.
I had to surf back into shore on a wave with my body.
