I like a friend he likes me. We have both liked each other for over a year. One day he kissed me but I didn't want to ruin the friendship so i said i I was not ready. (I was not interested in anyone else, i just wanted to take it slow). He accepted gracefully. We continued being friends. Several months later, i decided id give it a try if he was still interested.

So i asked him out. Turns out he still likes me and has been waiting for a chance to date me. However, he did not like me asking him out. Either because he was not expecting it, or because he thinks its his job. Im not sure because he wouldn't tell me,.

So i can understand if he was caught off guard, bc he got used to the idea i just wanted to be friends. He can have time to adjust and ill wait. Him being bothered because i asked him out, bothers me. He has a right to feel how he feels but it directly clashes with how i feel. So i don't see a solution. Im pretty shocked tbh., One of the things - i thought- i really liked about him was he was not caught up in gender roles in friendships and relationships. It made him unique. He seemed to just take people as they are. I respected that. I don't know if he's changed or was hiding this side of himself.
