I saw a lot of gold digger YouTube videos and wondering, isn't it ok if the girl is a genuine nice girl?

I know my friend is one, she is from another country. She went to a private university for two masters in the usa. She ended up marrying a man she wasn't fully in love with, and described him as a short guy but he was a director at the university and also a ceo of a b rated corporation. She is decent to him, she doesn't work. They continue to get marriage counseling. But at 50,000$ per semester, she really needed to marry a millionaire.

I know of another friend, she only marries army guys who are high ranking. She is in her third marriage.

Honestly, can't a girl marry a guy she chooses? If a guy marries a girl for her good looks, is it ok for a girl to marry a guy for his money?

Be honest please! I don't need to you act like you like me when you really don't! Also it would be great if you could suggest things for me to improve on! ( you don't have read all of it, just rate me based on the parts you read)

A little about myself:
-I am not afraid to speak my mind, but also I know when it isn't appropriate to express opinions
- by being nice to most people, I try not to offend people for no reason (but I am not nice to everyone)
- Sometimes I'm pretty extroverted but mostly I'm pretty shy and quiet
-I consider myself pretty mature for my age
-I am not what guys consider to be super attractive ( in terms of looks) but I am around average
-I like to write about my life, take polaroids, and make videos of me and my friends
-I do well in school, but also I procrastinate and I get lazy
- I don't play lots of sports, but I tend to skateboard and rollerblade a lot
-I love painting and drawing (which makes me enjoy lots of school projects a lot)
-Sometimes, I get really insecure. It makes me feel bad about myself and really disappointed with my performance, which is why I am a perfectionist
-Sometimes my goals can make me act in a different way than I normally would
- I really love the whole tumblr clothing/ lifestyle but I am not on the website, nor do I have lots of social media. (just snapchat)
-Really love cooking
-I feel like I have many friend groups, but none of them are close with me because I feel like I don't belong completely to one group
-I've played piano in the past but my experience with playing music really sucks. It's not one of my passions.
-I am trying to use the internet less because I feel like there is so much more I could be doing with my life
-Many people ask what I do for fun, but they honestly don't understand that I am willing to try anything
-I suck at swimming
-I get jealous and mad easily, but I never say anything out loud and pretend I'm not feeling that way
- I have trust issues
