So something I've noticed with people who believe in "completely free markets" and those who are against the minimum wage is they believe that if you don't support a company it will suddenly change for the will of the people.

Take McDonalds.

Many workers complain the "minimum wage" is much too low for them and there aren't enough jobs around them to work at so they can't simply opt out and not support McDonalds. The typical "conservative" response is usually along the lines of "Stop Complaining. You don't deserve to live off McDonalds. Just go to school and learn a trade.". Ignoring the first 2 responses the last one is realistically impossible because wages aren't high enough. You can't get long term rewards if you can't even get a loan to take a risk. On top of that even if 100,000 Americans don't support McDonalds it isn't like the restaurant will go away because it just has too much money and its brand recognition is too big, likewise even if an entire staff quits the McDonalds will have workers in before the week ends.

So is it realistic to believe a strike or walk out will solve problems that billion dollar companies won't do without regulations? Explain your beliefs.
