I work in a department with 5 employees and it seems all great. Until the last month where a new employee transferred to our department. For some reasons , he showed an interest in me and he likes to spend all the time next to my desk and drinking all the coffee he can! He asked for my number and I gave it to him since we are in the same department and it is a habbit between employees to exchange numbers generally for work purposes. He called me the next day and tells me that he is in my city " I work in a town nearby " and he wants to meet me in a cafe and have a chat. I immediately apologized. I did not like him in the first place for many reasons. First, he always complains about how life is hard and how he was treated horribly by his mates in the other department. Second, he repeats the same stories and keeps asking the same questions about either the work or some personal information about me or other employees. Third, I don't like his behaviour in general, for example he leaves his coffee cup on my desk, or the feeling of being stared at by him with a stupid smile on his face while I do some work on computer." I think you got the idea". Forth, He always calls me on weekends to meet up and I am really tired of being " haunted " by him. Sometimes I wish I could have the power to transfer him to another department so I could feel normal again. I told my manager that I don't want to be near him and he said : Come on he is a good guy. Last thing I did was telling him not to call me because I will not go out with him ever. Guess what? he called today like I was speaking to myself ! I didn't answer anyway. Fifth, he is older than me with +11 years and there is nothing in common or sharing the same interests.

What do you think should I do? Should I Transfer to another department? have a fight with him?
