Shawn is 23 and Marvin is 22. Shawn kisses Marvin on the lips. Marvin becomes really red. He curls up into a ball and hides his face. Then he goes on a rant about how stupid, crazy and dumb Shawn is. Shawn asked Marvin if he took his mental medicine. Marvin says no I don't need medicine! Don't touch me! Your a idiot, why don't you ask to kiss me first? Now my face is all hot because of you! How dare you! I told you not! Shawn grabs Marvin and hugs him. Marvin feels like his heart is about to explode. He screams and leaves the room. Marvin has a strong urge to punch Shawn. Marvin decides to take his medicine to calm down.

The the next day Marvin is in the bathroom peeing. Shawn walks in on him. Marvin can't stop peeing. He tells Shawn to leave. shawn refuses to leave and asks Marvin 7 questions. Marvin answers all questions.

Marvin is about to bite a pizza, Shawn grabs it out of Marvin's hand and eats it in Marvin's face. Marvin makes something else to eat.

Marvin looks though Shawns phone. Shawn pushes Marvin to the ground and yells at him.

Shawn and Marvin get into a argument. Shawn pokes Marvin In the eye.

shawn calls Marvin stupid, Marvin punched Shawn, kicks him, they start physically fighting. Marvin feels so angry at Shawn, he screams loud enough for the neighbors to hear.

I always felt like "tough love" was more of a child rearing technique as opposed to something that can be used with adults or your partner/spouse. I was inclined to ask this question after a phone conversation with a friend and she said that her and her boyfriend give eachother "tough love" in situations to help one another grow. My initial reaction was that it sounded foolish and sounded more like a parent-child relationship but after really looking into it, it made some sense. For example: your partner is bad with money, so you talk to them often about their spending habits and get them to feel bad enough to want to save money. Even if you hurt their pride and make them feel crappy, in a way you're helping them, because you're shaming them into WANTING to save money which ultimately helps them in the long run. I think it's a good idea actually. It's out of love but it's not the typical loving sweet response that one is used to. I guess there are certain lines to be crossed too and one partner can grow resentful to the other partner, but I feel like a couple must be strong to be able to allow this kind of technique.
