When he gets frustrated or upset he shuts down, runs away or just goes off in the woods to be alone with his thoughts. When he comes back I am not to question him interrogate him or go on and on and on about things because he just can't deal with things anymore. But, here's the kicker so it's not he's using me for money because when he gets paid he spends all his money on me or puts it back into the place we are rebuilding. Then he's upset that he has nothing. Yeah, it's that strange. He is being paid by me to rebuild the place we live in. He volentired to do this and I tried to talk him out of it. Now I am out thousands of dollars and not one room has been completed in two years. When I try to talk to him and see if I can help him with what ever it is that is bothering him I am arguing with him? Then the problems always ends up being something I said or did. I wasn't nice enough when I asked or I was in a bad mood and it upset him or he's not feeling appreciated. Then I'll hear " I just want things to be happy and no drama" but, doesn't seem to see that his lack of effort to finish just one project is causing a lot of the stress. I've seen this before and want a male perspective Why do some men like my man who is really loving caring and giving people just stop dead in their tracks and stop doing things they promised they would with no real issue other than the "Well I don't feel you appreciate what I do here" Quip
I am not perfect but I do take good care of him. Our sex life is not an issue believe it or not. I cook clean do the laundry shopping and yes I like being a woman. He often says he just has a lot on his mind but won't a let me help him with things he is having issues with outside our relationship like X and kids.
He doesn't have a girl on the side. Yes I'm sure... It just makes no sense

I want to start off by saying that i am a very independent woman. I am 23 and i have had a steady full time job since i was 18. I am putting myself through college and have never had to ask anyone for anything financially. The reason i ask is because I have never he a relationship where the guy was even close to as stable as i am financially. The majority of guys i date never have been able to hold down a full time job. That usually wasn't an issue with me, i wound encourage them, but without fail they always seem to find a good job or seem to become responsible after the relationship ends. I am a good girlfriend. I Take care of my man, i cook, i clean and i make sure he is satisfied and am very low maintenance, and it always seems like after i get fed up by them becoming too comfortable, we break up. I always hear them say something like "Losing you made me see what i was doing wrong and made me try." But by then, the damage is done and there is too much damage to really salvage the relationship. I want a good guy who is in a position to take care of me financially or even be able to take me out and spoil me occasionally. I have never had that. Is it selfish or shallow to want that?

I want to clarify that when I say "feminine" and "masculine", I am referring to the behaviors society labels and associates with each. For example a "feminine" man would be someone that is more sensitive, expressive, sassy, etc.

The reason I am asking this question is because of two reasons. You don't need to read them to answer the question, but feel free to do so if you like:
1. I've been described as masculine by a lot of my friends. And it isn't because I dress differently or am a tomboy by any means, but because they claim I'm not as expressive, I don't use a lot of "feminine" gestures when I'm talking, I'm guarded, I am not the nurturing or domestic type, I'm a bit individualistic, I can sometimes put my career over other things, I don't know the right things to say to make a person feel better-- I'm more of a "fixer", I prefer to be in control and dominate, be the one to pay on dates, often have a hard time apologizing or telling someone how I really feel because of my pride, see vulnerability as a sign of weakness, etc.
2. Almost all the guys that are attracted to me (and vice versa) end up being more "feminine". The last guy I dated was overly sensitive. He would constantly need me to assure him that I cared about him. He was very expressive... hand gestures, sassy/fiesty, constantly wanted me to talk to him... all of it. When we argued, he was the one who would force me to talk it out and I was the one who would shut down. He got jealous very quickly and was very posessive. He would get very emotional and sentimental about small things, etc. He was the nurturing and domestic type. He said he preffered to cook and clean and wouldn't mind a woman who could bring in the money. He wasn't afraid to cry openly. Also, a lot of people used to tell me they thought he was gay simply because of these traits that society labels as feminine.

Is this just a coincidence or do others on here have similar experiences?
