Imagine you're with a guy and he makes $60k per year, but you make $70k. You live in a modest house but have debt and you don't live the lifestyle you really want. Your guy is offered a massive promotion that would catapult him up to $160k per year. This would allow you to get out from some of your debts, maybe upgrade your house, and go on trips you've always wanted to. It's also enough for you to be a stay-at-home mom in the future when you have kids while he works. The downside is that he'd always be working, whether it's overtime at the office or late at night at home and he'd have to travel a lot to the point where you wouldn't see him much and he wouldn't give you the attention that you've been accustomed to, leaving you wondering if he's still attracted to you. He'd also be over-stressed and short-tempered from the added workload.

With this in mind, would you want him to accept the promotion because of the lifestyle benefits it'd accrue for you, or turn it down because it'd create a rift in your relationship that would leave you feeling alone?

I recently quit my job, recovering from COVID, and taking some time off to think about future career options. That's a question for another time.

I'm obviously broke at the moment. I got $10 to my name until I can donate plasma again.

At times like these, I just stay optimistic and remind myself that I may not be in the best situation in life, but at least I have no debt.

I didn't go to college, never had a credit card, I never took on a large loan. I also heard that if you have a $10 bill in your pocket and have $0 in debt you're wealthier than 40% of Americans. I guess I'm a pretty wealthy man, even though I put up with dollar store toilet paper and dine on Top Ramen😂😂🤣

So I'm wondering if this has any value when it comes to dating. Would you see it as a plus if someone has no debt? I'm just talking about having no debt on it's own, NOT my situation in particular, my situation is a whole nother question for a different time.
