"In my personal experience, yes. Women are definitely more petty than men. By no means ALL women, but as a broad generalisation they are.

Women are more likely to read negative conclusions into tiny details of what people say to them/how it was said etc. When you are employed by a woman, what they want from you as an employee tends to be much more vague and ambiguous than when you are working for a man.

This isn't something you can really put numbers on, but just ask any manager who has managed a team of men, followed by a team of women. With men, disputes are rare and are resolved quite quickly. In a team of women, petty grudges stretch out over long periods of time.

All I have is the qualitative evidence of my life experience, but there seem to be more petty women than petty men out there.

I strongly suspect there are evolutionary reasons for this, as men and women's roles have been so different for so much of history, it stands to reason they may approach situations with different tactics and reasoning."
