We all know what insurance is: a hedge.
You pay the premiums so that in the event of an accident or health issue, you only pay a fraction of the cost of treatment, or sometimes, nothing at all.

Most people would definitely want health insurance for themselves and their family.

However, when it comes to pet insurance, not everyone feels the same way.
In lieu of pet insurance, some people set aside money in case their pet ever gets into an accident or suffers an illness. There are also plenty of people who would rather put their pets to sleep (euthanize) rather than pay the sometimes exorbitant cost that comes with treating pet illnesses or accidents.

Do YOU buy pet insurance for your dog or cat?

PS. I am using dogs and cats in this question because I know what insurance for these animals cost. I am less knowledgeable about what insurance for other animals cost.

Earlier on I asked a question on if being pro-life, pro-death penalty, pro-guns and cons-welfare are contradictory, and if the pro-choice, pro-welfare, cons-guns, cons-death penalty would be more or less contradictory. After the question popped in my mind, another question popped in my mind too and I'm asking it now:

Is it contradictory to be pro-human rights, but not vegetarian or pro-animal rights?
Being pro-human rights may be cons-death penalty, pro-peace, pro easily available education and healthcare, cons-human trafficking & slavery, pro gender equality, pro freedom speech, cons torture, pro religious freedom, reducing poverty etc.

Pro-animal rights may be cons-euthanasia of animals, cons fur farms, cons meat industry, pro-vegetarianism or veganism, cons killing any animals (including mammals, fishes, insects etc.) etc. They wants their children to be vegans/vegetarians too.
