Think of it this way : When you are in kindergarten, you are the most open minded during your development, you can make friends with practically anyone there and play games without having to worry about possible bad intentions.

Duringschool years however, lots of us make experience with bullying and ostracation.
It's the first time where we are exposed to solid group dynamics which exert peer pressure on us and we experience that people we thought were our friends turn their backs on you, etc.

Just because you are not "cool" or not part of the "in crowd" (the in crowd from my high school is going nowhere in life at the moment, they still put on for each other and gossip behind each other's back)

I personally always give people the benefit of the doubt and believe in peoples' good side since most people are not inherently evil or something.

As you get older, you need to focus more on yourself though and see where you are at in life. You become less open-minded or "naive", meaning that someone who makes a nice impression wants to be around you.
