The Muslim Scare

Fueled by a recent question, asking if we should let Muslims into our country. I had to make this take on behalf of Muslim people out there, who are now under scrutiny by our fearful and closed minded peers.

ISIS

First things first this needs to be cleared up. I'll try to make this simple. It's the United States fault that ISIS is what it is. We felt compelled to go to Iraq, destabilize it, go into debt, cause a large group to have animosity towards us that inspired others to join it after causing 165,000 civilian deaths. On top of that we put a prejudice leader in charge to oppress a Muslim sect, which happens to be a majority. ISIS then grew over rapidly because people were sick of it and were seduced by their message, also forced as it grew. Over ran the Iraqi military we sank money into training. And the worst thing about it is the Iraqi military we trained, retreated, and left behind over a billion dollars worth of U.S. weaponry for ISIS to take. So if anything that should piss you off more than anything. Our tax dollars were just wasted, and they have our weapons; humvees, tanks, snipers, ammo, cars, grenades, rockets, rifles, you name it. Remember, this was Bush that set this up, not Obama.

Speaking of weapons, remember that air drop of U.S weapons we sent in Syria during the rebel civil war a few years back? You know, the one Obama was extremely reluctant to get involved with? But instead of looking deeper into the situation, we pressure him into doing something about it? So he dropped tons, literally, tons of weapons to calm everyone down? Well guess who we indirectly gave those weapons to? ISIS. We became too sentimental and didn't bother to take our time to see who was mixed in with the rebels. So after all of that, where's the accountability in all of this? Moving on.

ISIS is not Islam

A lot of people believe that Muslims are all of sudden in the same boat as ISIS. That's like saying Christians are in the same boat as The Westboro Baptist Church. ISIS took the Islamic faith and used it to control their people. They aren't religious at all. They are using religion out of context with fear and leadership to gain control of people. I understand your fear. But you don't see us banning Christians for having free speech, or referring them as a cult because you they also have a bunch of lunatics running around do you?

But Christianity is nothing like Islam, it's peaceful!

But we need to take precautions

Banning Muslims from entering our country? You want to alienate a group of people over fear of an extremely tiny minority? That'll just give ISIS ammo to get recruits. So let me be the fearful prejudice one as well. How about we ban white males from entering school campuses and movie theaters because a small minority have been wreaking havoc? That's not right isn't it? You can't alienate people because someone else's doing and they happen to 'look' like them, or let the media play on your fears for it either. You can't let fear control your perspective, or you'll fall into what is called the Hitler Effect. Surprisingly, people think it's impossible to have another Hitler, or fall for someone who uses his strategy. But Donal Trump has proven that we are still very susceptible, and that should scare you more than ISIS. Imagine that, right now, present day, after already going through WWII, and being taught it, millions of people are falling for the same exact playbook Hitler used. I can't make this up! Hitler spoke just like Trump is now, and millions of people mind you MILLIONS! Are prone to do or say messed up things, and worst off all they're pissed. How do you think ISIS got started to begin with as well? ISIS leaders are using fear to recruit people the same way Trump is gaining supporters. The only difference is they have weapons and are using violence as a forefront.

We should educate ourselves and let our Muslim neighbors know that we're better than that. It's like I say to people; I'm not afraid of terrorists, no. I'm more afraid of what people are to become when they are in fear. That needs to change, and we need to unite with our Muslim friends against a common enemy we share.

There are wolves in sheep clothing in ever aspect of life. So don't let a flock different from your own, all innocently go to slaughter just for you to feel safe. Because the wolves in your own, are the ones telling you to do it, and the ones you should truly be wary of.

I can appreciate where your coming from with wanting to be the hand of compassion and help a people that to be honest have a shit load going on in their home land , I to sympathize with them just as you do.
Yes we as an American nation ( or at least our leaders ) bear resposabilty of a lot of their pain and suffering. We as a nation have only closed a nationality or race of people out twice in history as best as my research shows , Cuba was one and the other was Iran ( there may be others that I didn't find ) during the Cuban crisis , Cuban citizens were deported out of a national security measure , Iranians were done the same during the Iran / Contra problem. While we are a country of compassion and brotherhood National Security must trump the bleeding hearts.
I totally understand that terrorism isn't confined to a religion or a faith but is a continuable action based on blah blah and doesn't matter. The sole fact that the vetting process is a cluster feck looking for a place to happen , I agree with Thumps notion that they should not be allowed in until the vetting process is reformed. Trump NEVER said never allow them here , just that they need to be a properly checked person to prevent terrists from parading across our borders unchecked as our present administration is pushing for. This is the very reason I loath the notion of the politically correct movement. Maybe you don't agree with my idea that safety of our own citizens come first , let's try this. We have hundreds of thousands of Americans now that are either homeless or living in below the minimum needed to be considered lower class , if we're are really a nation of compassion and brotherhood how is it we turn a blind eye and jump on the band wagon to welcome people that have not contributed one thin copper penny to better this nation? We have homeless vets starving children , it's never seen on the news but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I am good with helping these immagrants once they are cleared through channels and after we help our own

Also it's been said women are more likely to be sexually harassed/raped by these categories, one being the highest chance.

That's terrible to hear, and again, should be taken seriously. We also have a sex trafficking problem in the U. S, nationwide. I know a girl who was kidnapped sex trafficked. Crazy thing the men were white. Rape and sexual abuse has no label and isn't just subjected to one culture. It's happening everywhere, with every kind of man AND woman running the show, of ALL cultures. There are non-profits dedicated to combating this.

One way to look at this is this. Our own teachers, cops, family members, and friends are out doing it everyday, with some sex slavery going on, and we turn a blind eye. But a group of Middle Easterns are doing it and suddenly we have a problem.

Something I would like to to add is that when people usually quote verses from the Qur'an claiming that these verses teach violence against non-Muslims and encourage Muslims to behead those who don't believe in Islam, they are either unaware of something called "Asbab al-nuzul" (which means 'circumstances of revelation'), or they are aware of it but ignore it.

To clear things up, there's not a single verse in the Qur'an that tells Muslims to kill non-Muslim if they don't accept Islam, not a single one, in fact there are plenty of verses that talk about freedom of belief.

However does the Qur'an have verses where it talks about killing a group of unbelievers? Yes, but those unbelievers aren't all the unbelievers in the universe and they weren't killed just because they were unbelievers, they were killed because they fought against Muslims first, and here comes the issue of Asbab Al-Nuzul, those verses only talk about a limited historical context where Muslims were forced into war and they were just a guide to the Muslims who faced that problem.

I'm just gonna give an example of the verse number 12 of Surah al-Anfal in the Qur'an and how studying the historical context behind it and Asbab al-nuzul can make things clear. It says " [Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."

Reading it for the first time you might say "oh this is where the actions of ISIS come from" , but if you read the Islamic history were this verse were revealed you sill understand that it doesn't have anything to do with the action of ISIS, This verse and the verses before and after were revealed about the Battle of Badr, which occurred in Arabia in the early seventh century. A battle in which the pagans of Makkah traveled more than 200 miles to Madinah with an army of about 1000 to destroy Muslims.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and fellow Muslims had suffered severe persecutions and torture for 13 years in the city of Makkah. And now that they had fled Makkah and found a sanctuary in the city of Madinah, they were once again threatened. Muslim Army was only about 300 strong. God Almighty gave the order to Muslims to fight to defend their lives and faith.

The enemy came to them with the intent to kill Muslims. It was a war to defend themselves and their Faith. It was a war imposed upon Muslims. And when you fight, you strive to kill the enemy during the fight. However, even during the war, Islam has the highest moral law of war. You don't kill children, women or any one who is not fighting with you. You also don't fight, if the enemy wants a peace treaty, as it's mentioned in the Qur'an:
"And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing" Qur'an 8:61.

So please, educate yourselves more about the Qur'an before jumping into conclusions.

Every single verse above except Timothy is part of the Old Testament. The Old Testament was in reference to the Jews NOT Christians. Essentially everything wrong in the Old Testament is corrected once Jesus came into existence. This video cherry picked it's information because you won't find any of this in the New Testament.

Enough with comparing Trump to Hitler. There is nothing unconstitutional with banning a certain group of people from entering the USA. The refugees during WW2 had to be sponsored by a family in the states for them to even be considered. The USA is a GATED country we don't have to have it wide open for everyone. All he said was to ban them from entering so we can figure out what was going on with all the terrorist attacks.

Enough with comparing Trump to Hitler? That's a BIG deal. It's been shown there's a drastic correlation that he's using Hitlers early playbook before rising to power. Fear, scapegoating, anger, cognitive dissonance, getting people to believe outlandish claims, and not owning up to his words since he's not in power. That's a psychological recipe for disaster. It's evoking dangerous emotions in people, that make them believe they can justify their intolerance or fear; which throughout history, for some reason we seem to not learn from, and ALWAYS leads to action. And lastly, you apparently don't have any Muslim friends. A lot of Muslims in the U. S., in the west banks, some in Jordan, are incredibly secular, and liberal. Not all Muslim women are subjected to wear a hijab in certain regions. The same way not all women in the U. S. are subjected to being considered a slut in liberal regions for having been with multiple partners.

You apparently are missing the big picture here. And for someone who's quoting bible passages, and uses Jesus as an example, you're not very much of an example of him either. I love when Christians quote Jesus but can't actually follow him. It tells me you either need to work on a few things, or find a religion that works for you because it's too hard for you to have compassion, and see that using fear and anger to justify the means is wrong.

Do you understand the situation Germany was in after WWI compared to the USA today? Germany was left in shambles after WWI all morale was lost. Hitler wasn’t elected, he was APPOINTED. You’re right I don’t have any Muslim friends. I have ZERO interest befriending those who believe in the Quran and Sharia Law. There is Western Civilization (Us) and then there are the barbarians who live east of Europe. They want all the technologies we have, but they HATE our views. Here is America, we’re taught that everyone is the same and to love everyone. Over there, they’re taught to hate our beliefs. I’ve deployed over there and their beliefs aren’t like ours. You went to Iraq or Afghanistan? So you should know the history of how they got in the condition they are in today. That was due to the U.
