I have been dating my girlfriend for 10 months. We spend almost every weekend together. We enjoy our time together and we have many common interests. We have had a few minor disagreements but we have never had a fight. I think she is The One and everyone who knows us says we are an ideal couple.

I am in love with her and I have told her so. She says that, because of her history of being married to a man who was unfaithful for many years, she is very guarded about letting anyone into her heart. I understand that. My goal in dating is to find a partner for a permanent relationship. I want someone who loves me just as I love her. I want someone who will be committed and faithful to me just as I will be committed and faithful to her.

At times, I tell myself that I should be patient and wait for her to become more confident. Other times, I think that may never happen and, potentially, I am spending time seeking something that will never come to exist. What do you think I should do?
