“The key driver of these attitudes may be universities, where feminist ideology often holds powerful sway. Women now predominate on college campuses. In the late 1960s they were about 39% of college graduates; now they are about 59%. The percentage of full-time female professors has risen dramatically; at the full professor level the percentage has grown by roughly one-third.
Women now earn more than half of advanced degrees, not only in education but health and medical sciences, and are making great strides in engineering and law. With this growth, a feminist agenda has become increasingly de rigueur in colleges. According to the  National Center for Education Statistics, the number of women’s and gender studies degrees in the United States has increased by more than 300% since 1990, and in 2015, there were more than 2,000 degrees conferred. There are widespread movements to establish women’s centers almost everywhere, even as men are abandoning college and university life in record numbers, and those who remain are hit with messaging about behavior and status from diversity, equity, and inclusion offices along with various student life offices that regularly call them toxic, aggressive, and born misogynists.”

This all started at a 5-day convention a year ago, followed by 2 more each of these lasting a weekend, held by some EU history university faculties. Right after we first saw each other we held our gazes on each other noticeably longer than usual. Soon after that, she came to stand next to me, in a group I was already with, and I tried to talk to her but it was difficult as her stuttering and nervousness was quite bad. Sometimes when walking past me she would turn her head towards me and stare at me while she walked into another direction. During presentations at all 3 conventions where we met and at break times she'd regularly stare, hold her gaze at me or glance over towards me several times. She only stutters and becomes tense with me.

I'm a guy, we're both history students with an interest in labor history. She lives in Austria, and she knows, since we first met, that I live in Sweden. She seems introverted, and tends to stick with people from her own faculty. Yet, she consistently has this behavior I described earlier to just me, and at every convention she also takes initiative to come and talk with me, and when she doesn't tense up or stutter, she smiles at me too.

However, she also does seem to give signals of seemingly disinterest like she doesn't respond to most of my chat messages, she only wrote me that she's the worst at chatting which she wrote me after I complimented her appearance of her selfie in a story post. That was before our most recent convention in last April, but her behavior during this convention seemed unchanged and similar to before, ie still stuttering and tense with only me but walks over to talk with me with a smile. She also regularly still held her gaze at me during presentations and break times. Later, when we had a bit of small talk she suddenly walked away from me, but while walking away from me she turned her head to me and kept looking at me.

The next time I will likely see her is in 4 weeks at a convention lasting a week.

i'm an assistant professor at a university, and i'm the research supervisor of a female student whose behaviour has confused me. the girl is usually distant, and i have scolded her very severely at times to which she just rolls her eyes or frowns but always stays quiet. recently, i gave her a research task to do which coincided with her exam schedule, when i insisted that the task has to be completed at any cost , she got a quite rude and said that she WILL NOT do the task since its not part of her research (Although it was) and that she has exams, i asked her to hire an attendant to do the job, the attendant asked for more money than she could give so she got rude with me and she that she can't do the task at the moment but the task was urgent. i am also her teacher for a subject. i was very mad at her for her behavior. the next morning she came with the amount and said that its for the attendant to do the task, but i refused, upon multiple refusals to take the money, she started crying hysterically and she starting shaking. i told her its okay i'm not going to fail you, but she was crying like somebody had died and said ' I'M SORRY SIR... I'M CRYING BECAUSE I FEEL BAD THAT YOU FELT BAD. I GOT FRUSTRATED. I'M SORRY.' she went on crying and refused to leave unless the money was taken from her. then i took the money and she left. i couldn't understand the reason why she was crying like that just because i felt bad? is she attracted to me? is she in love with me? or is she just afraid of failing? PS. the girl is very pretty.
