I've compiled a list of things about someone I've known since I was 16-we only started dating 8 months ago, I need an opinion from all of you about whether these are red flags and if I should stay or run or talk it out?

1) He works as a lawyer but I've noticed that he would put the medical profession down- I work as a paediatric nurse and I am in medical school. I noticed he would say things like "the medical profession are crap, useless and lazy" and even though I tell him off and he apologises, he still makes some negative comments...
2) He says he has high standards and wants a girl who can take care of herself "because it saves him from having to do all the rest" Although I look after myself, I notice that whenever I get stressed from university and I need him the most, he withdraws, but when he is having a bad day, I'm always there for him.
3) We met up at a cafe 3 days after Christmas and he appeared angry at me for no reason (to this day I have no idea what I did). I asked him what was wrong, but he dismissed my question and I thought he might have been stressed from work. From the look on his eyes and his face and eyes, I've never felt so scared. It's hard to explain, but I started to have that awful uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. And of course when he saw how scared I was, he accused me of looking confused and then told me it's probably why I "don't have my life together."
4) He asked me one time "so after med school, what are you going to be? A GP or surgeon?" I told him I wanted to be a GP, and he replied "Oh, is that it?"
5) On Christmas day, when my parents invited him over to our house for dinner, he asked me "aren't you going to lose some weight?" My boyfriend is a triathlete whereas I am a marathon runner and swimmer and so I started to feel anxious and insecure about my body.
6) He didn't grow up from money, but ever since he got a job as a senior lawyer in a corporate law firm, he has been showing off.

I've know this guy for about 7 months now - we're members of the same choir. Two weeks ago I went to see a play he was in. After that I went for a night out with him and his theatre-group. I found out that he and I had a lot in common (for example: we're both crazy cat people) and that we share the same sense of humor. We had super fun conversations and I really felt like "why didn't I notice you before?".

The next time we saw eachother was at choir rehersal. During break-time when I walk by him to get a glass of water he suddenly walks up to me and starts talking to me, bringing up the cat subject again. He never talked to me before. He was also joking about the songs we rehersing and the broken chair he was sitting on, he was really trying to make me laugh. When break was over and we sat down on our seats (pretty far away from me). I noticed that he was looking at me. Our eyes met and I smiled back.

The last few days I've been trying to text him. He responds really quickly (0-2 minutes), but none of my texts led to a conversation.. I don't want to risk sending any more, because I don't want to come off as needy or something.

Do you think he was just being nice, because we had such a great time? or was he trying to flirt with me?

Society does tend to label women as more needy, so many women feel they need to overcompensate for this by being more accommodating to his needs and wants, even if that gives him an excuse to be lazy or rude etc. I’m not saying all, and this is not a feminist post, but in general I definitely see with my own eyes from women’s actions and perspectives that this is true. I think women should feel more comfortable about calling out BS when they see it and not made to feel like they should always walk on egg shells in fear of being called bossy and so forth just because of their directness.

So, I just started working this new job and there is this guy I think is pretty dope. He's cute, funny and kinda weird like me. We get along and talk but I know that he just sees me as a friend. I know that I'm not his type because honestly I'm not anyone's type. I don't really have any ugly features but I'm not pretty. I mean I've tried to wear a little make up now and then but it never really makes a difference in the way I look. And in order for me to actually have any results that I might actually like I'd have to basically change my whole appearance. Which is not something I want to do. When someone steps to me I want them to do it because they see me as I am. I don't wear make up mostly because I'm hella lazy (I can't do a wing tip to save my life) I don't wanna go through all that shit that I be seeing girls go through with all the concealer, foundation eye liner and whatever else they be using, but also because I don't wanna hide or change myself to be with someone. Like I said I've realized that I'm not really anyone's type. And what I mean by that is that I've always been the best friend thats a girl and the people that do become interested in me are just plain weirdos. Some would say that I'm being picky but I don't think I am. Which brings me back to the guy I work with. I've always been attracted to guys are sort of out my league. Well muscled and tall and all that jazz. Imagine that with a small chubby girl with small eyes and a wide nose and u would say bad combo too. A lot of people would say I'm being too hard in myself but I'm just being a realist and speaking from experience. Men tend to look in the other direction when it come to me, and i don't know why. because I've seen women who are fatter than me or even uglier than me who significant others. So why is it so hard for me to want to be with someone and for them to want to be with me in return. Perhaps my standards are too high I don't know. Anyway my question is what do u guys think I should do about the work cutie?
