Search Results: how many compliments could your friend get

I have a crush on my best guy friend, who is mutual friends with my best girl friend. She's been hinting he likes me. Here are some of our texts...

"Hey. Soooooo. What would you like to happen with [my crush]? It's a rhetorical question." My train of thought went to that he might have guessed I liked him, so I got really worried.

"My lips are sealed. Don't be worried! Good things are happening!" This seems like obvious hinting, but it could be my point of view with really wanting it, and stuff.

Then, I asked my crush for help getting my best friend to tell me "the thing she won't tell me", as I generally do. He replies that she won't talk, but he'll keep prying. Of course, when I tell my best friend, she replies with: "He's totally lying but I know why and awwwww" That's kinda where I let myself really hope. Coz, I mean, read it.

On his side, I have realized his texts have started to sound more like mine: subtle/not subtle compliments, pushing the boundaries of what counts as friendly and what slides into flirting. Plus, many emojis. He even mirrors the set up of my text. If my smiley face emoji is oddly one line beneath the text, so is his. Not sure if that really factors in, but you know.

I realize this was a lot to read, but I just wanted to make sure you guys knew the situation. If any of you managed to read the whole thing, I would really love your opinions on what I should do.

A more recent thing is that a third mutual friend told me that my crush plans to ask me out on at the end of the school year. This friend doesn't actually know my crush, so her information would be from my best girl friend. How reliable would this be and how should this impact my reaction?

Update: We hung out recently. While we were playing video games we sat right next to each other. Our shoulders were touching and there was a whole couch. After that, we watched two movies. During the first one, he held my hand and, during the second one, he put his arm around my shoulder.
