How To Get Women! (And maybe men?)

I'm writing this post in hopes that it will hope at least one of you guys. I'm not sure if this really works on dudes as well, but I've gotta say it's really only about kicking ass and knowing how the game works. I'd imagine this could help some women, but I'm not sure.

The Goal

If you follow these steps you'll be a gentleman when you land dates, but you won't get stuck in the friend zone. By constantly pushing the boundaries you'll disallow yourself to be stuck in any friend zones. You'll also never have to fear that you're taking it too slowly for her comfort. She'll be dictating the speed of things, yet you'll be in control. Awesome right?

So let's get started, shall we?

Embrace Failure

I've posted it many times, but failing is not trying and coming up short but rather never trying at all. If you're a geek/nerd you'll dig the fact that it's all a numbers game. Statistically, not one man on earth will ever bat 100. In fact, if you're 50% or better you're probably a casinova.

You will not get a phone number/date every time you try. That's LIFE. The more you try, the easier it is to embrace this fact. Get out there and try! That is key.

Be a Bold, Careless Badass

Guys don't typically just walk up and ask for a number out of the blue. I did when dating, my brother does, and frankly it works. Walk up with a nice smile on your face, ask the pretty girl if she's single. Don't be a bitch and ask pointless awkward questions or introduce yourself. They don't know you and they don't care about your name.

You ask if she's single because it's a very easy way for her to say no, and it's before you're committed to asking for a number. When she says no, smile and say something like, "Oh okay, you're very pretty and I was going to see if you wanted to exchange numbers but no worries. Have a nice day!" and walk off. Do. Not. Linger. Don't be a damn creep.

You'll get numbers this way. After you get the number, introduce yourself and get her name while you're putting it in your phone. It's easy and natural to say, "Oh hey what is your name so I can put it in my phone?" from that point, say, "Oh nice to meet you I'm <your name>". Do. Not. Linger. Tell her thanks and that you'll text her, and walk off. Text her within ~5 minutes and ask if it's her. When she confirms, say "Okay thanks, just making sure :)" and do not text her again. Make a mental note to text her in a couple days, but don't do it now. The rare exception is if she engages conversation with a question. In that scenario, just respond, be nice, but don't try to have a deep meaningful conversation. Dates are for conversations, texting this girl you don't even know is for arranging the date.

Be a Bold, Careless Badass

Yep, again. Step number two and three are all about being awesome. Take her out. Pick a good place where you can talk and such. Now here's why you are a badass. Tell her she looks gorgeous. This will be your only compliment on her beauty for the night unless she fishes for it. Don't repeat how gorgeous she is all night. Grab her hand even on the first date. Hold it while you're walking into wherever you're going. This does not happen often and she will be taken back by it. Open doors for her. Be a gentleman.

When the date is coming to an end and you're both in your car, beast mode. Kiss her. Don't be a bitch. Do it. Push the boundaries. If the kissing gets hot and heavy, go further. She will stop you. Apologize and tell her "I'm sorry, you're just so beautiful and I've had such a great time tonight" with a big sincere smile on your face. Don't push it any more. Respect her boundaries.

Rinse and repeat this step for your other dates.

Ask Questions

Not sure what to talk about on the first date? Here's a hint. She doesn't give a shit about how awesome your dog is. She doesn't care that you're Diamond in League of Legends. Ask about her. Ask how she likes her job. Get her number while she was working at a Kiosk? Ask about it. Ask how she enjoys it. Talk about how she must get hit on a lot there. When that topic dries up, ask what she does for fun.

When she asks you if you like something (certain Music, certain Movies, etc.) and you don't like it, don't be a bitch. If you don't like it, be funny. For example, "I LOVE Twilight!! Do you like Twilight?" you respond, "Twilight??? Nooooo.... Are you serious? Oh god I don't know if I can do this any more..." with a big laugh. Be funny. That example is slightly degrading in a humorous way. Don't be degrading to her every time you try to be funny.

Your instict may be to appease her, but trust me you're not doing anyone any favors by lying and saying you love all the things she loves.

Don't Be a Bitch

Do. Not. Ever! let her walk on you. EVER. You're running this show. If she flakes out, be honest. Tell her you'd like to go out, but the ball is now in her court. Do not push going on a date. If she's simply not interested and gave you her number in the heat of the moment, so be it.

Don't seem desparate. If she flakes, so what? Leading me to my final step/rule...

Do. Not. Care.

Don't care. This is your transformation from an emotional baby to man mode. Stop caring! If it works out, great! If not, cool story bro. You've got to go with the flow. You can't sit and think about her or worry about if you just said something stupid. This is you, she can take it or leave it but your day is not dictated by her and how she feels about you. You will not let your day/week/month be negatively influenced. You're a walking casinova, a real badass! It's about time you started acting like one.

Good luck out there. The game can be brutal, but I firmly believe following the simple rules above will lead to a higher success rate.

I think this would work on a lot of women, but probably not on me, depending on the extent of some things. As with all things, it depends on the person you're dealing with.

Conversation is very important to me. I need some level of vulnerability and sharing, and an intellectual connection. Be interested in me, obviously. No one wants to hear all about you the whole time, but a balance is key.

And if the "I don't care" vibe is too strong or noticeable, I probably will just stop responding or reaching out. My time is valuable, so if you don't care, then I don't care, and we can just go our separate ways. Go not care with another girl, it's not a big deal.

I also don't like the super blunt direct approach. I find it entertaining, but I don't take those guys seriously. I'm not that basic. Telling me I look good and then asking if I'm single is not going to be enough. Those are fuck boys trying to collect numbers. I don't consider them anything more than that.

But you have some good points. Some things seem like they should be obvious, if you're a well balanced person good at socializing, but perhaps this advice is particularly key for those who aren't.

All excellent points. When I wrote this article, more than anything I was typing it out as though I was talking to a friend who doesn't get out to get the girls and complains about not having a girlfriend. Your insights seem to be quite on the mark.

Interestingly enough, it seems as though you would't jive with someone who did this because you yourself follow a lot of this to an extent. It seems you like to know about your date (a lot of girls on the first date don't), you DGAF (which is awesome) and inherently probably have a lot of guys chasing you due to that mentality, and look for substance versus material. That's pretty awesome.

The super blunt approach. I feel like you could still fall for a guy that ran with that approach. Maybe not, but I do know if you made those assumptions and were shocked by a guy who had a ton of substance instead of simply being a "fuck boy", I think that'd probably drive you wild. No? Correct me if I'm wrong.

It seems that things are more impactful from unexpected sources. Like the super quite person of the group who never rips on someone. One person says something, and absolutely out of no where that person responds with a zinger. For whatever reason, that's typically a lot funnier than if someone who always cracks jokes says it.

Step 5 is pretty important. You tend to lose focus after 1 or 2 bad rejections. You sort of need something to pick up your morale and go for another try. In fact, that's the only thing that really matter. The rest only increase your chance but none of them can guarantee result except keep trying to improve.

on me, and most of the girls i know, this would be a completely unwelcome way to approach any of us, unless you are an overflowing mountain of total charisma and your natural personality shone through past your "tactics" or whatever.

there will be many girls for whom this stuff will work, to a certain extent, and it will be at least partly because they'll be scared. will they maybe be attracted? a little bit, but they'll be scared, and they'll internally just dismiss their concerns because they're used to doing that, and go along because they want to have dates, etc - insecurities driven by intimidation.

and frankly? a man who's obsessed with showing he's in charge? get that the FUCK away from me. talk about intimidating. do most married women that you know marry guys who seem like intimidating stone cold steve austin rip offs?

also, the twilight thing - i mean, you know, a bit of good natured mutual mockery here and there is fine in certain contexts, but actually attempting to be degrading is just, like, completely wrong. completely wrong.

and really - i'd be incredibly uncomfortable with any guy who i realized was attempting to use tactics to prevent me from saying no, like not asking if i was single so i can't say no. just asking me for my number is like, oh boy. bad results.

there's some ways where i'm an outlier though, in regards to that point specifically, and that's because any hint of guys *trying* to be badasses, unless they're like, already the undertaker or whatever, and i *hate* them, absolutely hate them. and i'm not too fond of guys like the undertaker either, really.

Though, it is good to see the opinion of a "I hate men, they're evil and intimidating" chick. It explains a LOT as to why a guy can't simply talk to a girl. When there are women like you out there, guys can't really do anything without being "intimidating", "scary", etc.

a) you're approaching a girl cold, and asking for her number straight away as a total stranger at random

b) you're trying to affect an attitude of Being A Badass (TM)

most people meet the guys they really like through friends, work, or casual settings where they can get acquainted with them first and then ask them out if they feel there's any chemistry or flirting going on - it is, and always has been, the best way to meet people, especially for dates. they get comfortable, they get to know each other a little, and then they decide if they want to do anything. it's better, 100% of the time, than a complete cold "can i get your number" from a total stranger. especially one trying to affect an attitude that isn't naturally there's, in an attempt to stop you from saying no. and how else will you know you like the girl anyway?

what matters in the context here is how the girl would receive the pickup - and my argument isn't really contingent on whether or not the girl's straight or not. being a total stranger, and acting like a careless badass or whatever the fuck is just never, ever, as good as getting to know someone first casually, and then asking for a number. it's as simple as that. you don't have to be straight to know that.

Regarding the 'ask questions' point, getting the girl to do all the talking is not always a good idea. I'm a fairly introverted girl and I know that whenever anyone tries to get me to do all the talking, in a dating situation or otherwise, I always feel extremely uncomfortable and would be much happier listening. In fact I would happily take hearing about your awesome dog over telling you my interests any day of the week. Not all females are like this so my advice would be to first suss out whether or not whoever you've invited out is going to be happy running their mouths off for an evening. If you can't tell beforehand when it gets down to conversation try asking a few questions and see how she reacts to being the centre of attention. If she isn't animated or looking particularly engaged in talking about herself, don't push it! Take the chance to steer the conversation towads yourself instead - you might even find that something you bring up about yourself is a common interest with her that opens conversation. If you're confident enough to get a girl's number off the street this shouldn't be a problem. This obviously works both ways as it's more of a general Conversation 101 skill than dating tip.

I just want to add a couple things.

1) Confidence is a sexy trait to have. But there is a fine line, between being confident and being an ass. Be aware of this boundary.

2) When you're about to get a girls number or ask for it, please look as non-threatening as possible. Smile, make sure she sees you coming (don't just sneak up behind her), and be as nice as possible. Try to do this in a public place or in the daytime. I know most of you guys are probably nice people, but it's sometimes hard to distinguish between creeps and genuine guys if we don't know them personally.

In context I agree completely. However, the point is to really find out about those interests rather than spouting random crap. Sure, there are a lot of dog-lovers out there, but unless you find out, you'll never know if you're just rambling about something she finds uninteresting.

I think you bring up a good point about not being a dick when disagreeing. Though, if I joked about disliking One Direction and the girl took offense that'd be a pretty big deal breaker for me. A girl who takes offense that easily would not be someone I'd pursue any further. There are a lot of things in life to potentially be upset about, but someone playfully disagreeing with your tastes is not one of them in my opinion.

One factor for guys to consider is she is probably the right girl , but the timing was wrong , ie you introduce yourself , but , because she is not in the mood for a multitude of reasons , she doesn't respond to you or outright rejects you , so don't take it personally !! However , I have witnessed on numerous occasions , whilst working as a doorman , young women that brutally rejected guys that were respectful & not sleazy , in the most vicious manner possible , they did that for " fun " ( & they bragged & laughed about it too !! ) , I would understand if the guys were dicks , but they were not. I ejected them from one venue as they would have sparked trouble.

Who says it's a facade? Every single thing I put there is 100% me - what I've become after the years of being in the game I experienced. When I say "Be a Badass", I'm not saying I'm a badass. I'm merely saying you have to put yourself into the mode of not caring if a girl isn't interested, etc.

There's really no mention of not getting connected - there are only starter tips to make sure you can get/keep a date going conversation wise. If you were to ask questions in response, my natural reaction would be to open up and enjoy a good mutual conversation. However, getting to that point isn't always easy. Most women don't care to ask a lot of questions right off the bat, especially using this approach.

I am ALWAYS true to myself, and I think this take does well to show that. I even have a section on not caring if someone dislikes you for being you. Sure, someone could say a person following these simple guidelines is not being true to their true self...

... however, you could say that about ANYTHING. There are very few people who legitimately wear everything about them on their sleeves in the first 5 dates. That's not necessarily being untrue to yourself, it's simply not sharing a certain side of yourself until you get into the comfort of doing so.

This take is not about being untrue to yourself, it's about hardening yourself to harsh realities. The fact is, not every woman will find you attractive. Not every woman who does find you attractive will want to date you or will be single. Not every woman who does want to date you will be a compatible match. Etc.

This take basically sums up the fact that you have to put yourself out there, accept "defeat" on numerous occasions, and not be sad about it. It's really a numbers game. Someone out there IS compatible, and you are far more likely to find them by understanding that you must power through some shitty dates and denials to get to the the good dates and good girls.

the advice on getting numbers is very true. girls are more apt to giving out their number nowadays because they can block you if necessary. I've noticed guys fall into the trap of of obssessing on one girl, dont; its detrimental.

what happens when you're stuck on a single question of an exam? naturally you wanna stick around until you solve it. ignore the impulse, stick to the strategy, and move on... time is limited.

In all seriousness I really wouldn't care about that. One, she'd have no way of knowing I was following some sort of process. Two, if anyone ever asked me about it I'd tell them, "Normally I'm shy and quiet, so I thought I'd take a different approach." Not a huge deal in my opinion.
