I don't get it. What is up with so many males here, who are much better looking, much younger, lacking confidence? It blows my mind. Most of you guys are closer to the societal standard for what is considered to be good looking for an average American male. How is it a guy who ranks a four on that scale or maybe a five is more confident that a guy who would rank an eight or a nine?

1. Why do so many guys here complain about being ugly?
2. Why do so many guys here complain that they "have no game"? Go out, study, practice, research, and get "a game".
3. Why don't these guys at GaG recognize they are much closer to societal standards for what a man should look like, what his ethnic background should be and what his culture should be? These guys are blessed and much farther ahead than many other men who have to work twice as hard.
4. And if they refuse to recognize all of the advantages they have and what minor adjustments they could make, what is their plan to fix their issues in the dating game?

I posting my photo because of @CoachAnthony and my man @sketchforger. I mean well Sketch is a beautiful man so there is no penalty for him. Coach is probably a point higher than me on the scale. But because he is fearless about his look, he kind of encouraged me to post my photo also.

It ain't pretty, but it is me.

Oh, go ahead and rate me. Maybe it will give some of these young guys some confidence. If they see how ugly other guys are in comparison to themselves, maybe it will help their own self image. 10 is the highest!

I started to develop interest in understanding people which lead to this question. It came out of wanting to understand my own behaviors... I'm straight.. but I have my recurring patterns. But I've been friends with gay, worked with and for gay/lesbian, and I've meet some T people along the way.

The cliff notes version is this... his father committed suicide (family trauma), he was abused by other men for years, he became an abuser and was finally healed later in life, after almost dying of AIDS.

There is a lot you can gain from this authors life experience, as tragic as it is, maybe it will help save a few others.

My other question is more probing. Do you now first hand anyone who was abused against their will and did you do anything about it? Have you thought about what you can do now to heal within yourself or the other?

In my life example: When I was about 14, a younger neighbor bragged to a group of kids raping his little sister. He was a real piece of dirt, a liar, a coward as a kid, lacked a conscience. I didn't know what to make of it and didn't react. As I saw his sister some time later, she seemed traumatized. I regret just letting it go and not informing someone who could intervene. I didn't realize how impactful that would be to someone and I'd receive my own abuse, and just figure you take it as that is life. I don't think either of those two are alive anymore.

Damage is occurring all around us. We have opportunities in life to change lives, for better or worse... all day long! Be aware, be skilled and know that silence... is acceptance.
