Introduction

Welcome to the helpful and interesting guide on how you can increase your MHO percentage! Back once again by popular demand, I'm here with the 2nd edition that's been revised to provide additional information that I didn't include in my past MyTake regarding this subject. If you missed out on the first one and are interested in reading it, you can find it here when I was under the username "Kyren"!

How to Increase Your Overall MHO Percentage on GAG

After going through three separate accounts, plenty of trial and error, along with studying human behavior, I've came up with a hypothesis I wanted to share to the GAG community in hoping to help increase mho percentages to those who want to! Are you looking to get that colored label next to your username with a mho number that's pleasing to your eyes? Maybe you're looking to find a way to maintain it without that number decreasing too much on you. Fear not, I've got some tips here that'll help you reach that mho number you're looking for! Before we get started on the matter, I want to discuss what mho means to those who aren't sure what it is. If you already know, feel free to skip to the first tip!

What is MHO and What Purpose Does it Serve?

MHO is abbreviated as Most Helpful Opinion! Each time an asker posts a question and opinions are received in it, the asker within a 24 hour period upon posting the question has the option to select up to 4 opinions (2 guys and 2 girls) who they think provided the most helpful opinion to them! This could be in the form of how knowledgable that person who gave the opinion was, to how humorous the opinion was, to the person being highly empathic and relating to the question. This helps people on this site figure out which ones are providing the most helpful opinions all around. Usually the higher the percentage, the more thoughtful the person was in attempting to be as helpful as possible! A lot of the time though, many of the opinions are selected by the automatic GAG system since the asker didn’t pick the MHOs within the 7 day period which may give an inaccurate reading on a person’s MHO percentage. Important details about MHO to be notified about.

A person's MHO is not an accurate depiction as I stated above of how intelligent a community member actually is. Considering the number of people on this site who are biased and mhos that weren't selected by the asker themselves but rather through GAG's algorithm system, this can lead to miscalculated information about how knowledgeable a member really is. If you want a more accurate depiction of them, simply view their profile of all the opinions/questions they asked, along with their status as to how helpful they actually are to the community. The way I view it; mhos can be an incentive to help you improve your quality of posts to get your creative and logical mind going! It's an optional feature to have but I certainly love it to say the least!

With that said, let's get started and see what people do to increase their mho percentages, along with finding out how people with higher percentages maintain them:

Tips:

Topics that have subjective content in it that can create a lot of debate.
Topics that have subjective content in it that can create a lot of debate.

There's a good reason why specific sections on the site are considered controversial for how opinionated and personal they can be! I'm referring to the sections that usually give people strong feelings/emotions of disagreement with specific questions in mind. The most popular ones I would recommend avoiding include as follows: "Society & Politics", "Religion & Spirituality" and "GAG Community". This doesn't mean you have to avoid them all together but keep in mind that you'll need to be self-aware of what you're getting yourself into if you choose to do so. If any of these topics are ones you specialize in, this shouldn't be as concerning as it would be for others. With so many people having one-sided opinions in these sections, if your opinion isn't favored, it's likely going under the radar.

The ones where plenty of people join in; somewhere around 20+ people in the topic.

As tempting as it may sound to join in on the action where the community is mostly involved in, remember that your goal in mind is to increase your mho percentage. Sometimes, it's inevitable that you unintentionally post in a question that eventually grows to become one of the more popular featured questions where a lot of the community can see and voice their opinion on! Chances are there will be influencers, editors and deep thinkers who'll give you quite a challenge so the odds of you getting mho is very slim. Avoid these kind of topics for a while until you reach the percentage you're looking for!

One sided people will never be pleased!
One sided people will never be pleased!

There are people out there who are very stubborn and can't see outside their own views. It could be someone who's fishing for compliments, a person who only see their views as the only correct option or they favor specific individuals because they are buddies with them. It's important to understand that you want to engage with someone who's unbiased and willing to be open-minded to different opinions so you don't get shut out right away! These kind of people are more likely to have a conversation with you and will enjoy seeing someone who either agrees with their statement or finds a fascinating new perspective they missed out on before. Most of these members are ones who are brand new to the community or are influencers/editors so keep your eyes peeled out for them!

The more thought you put into it, the better off you'll be!
The more thought you put into it, the better off you'll be!

If you believe that one sentence opinion is going to get you far, you've sadly mistaken! Be as expressive and thoughtful as you can to voice out every little detail you want to show about your point of view! By doing so, not only do you show how knowledgable you are but how considerate you are in providing as much detail as you can to the asker so they can fully understand what you're trying to tell them. Statistically speaking, if you check the mho members who rank the highest in the community, they are the ones who put the most effort into their thoughts, feelings and/or knowledge so you have most, if not everything the person has to show for you. This is just like writing out a college essay; you'll get an A+ if you put the time and effort into it to be the best you can be!

Relate to the asker; understand why they are coming from with their question.
Relate to the asker; understand why they are coming from with their question.

This mainly applies to questions that involve emotional/mental situations. Understand what the asker is looking for and what kind of advice they are seeking for. Ask them questions, show that you can relate to them by expressing similar feelings/emotions you both went through and picture in your mind about what they are going through. You wouldn't believe how thankful people will be if you can put yourself in their shoes and feel what they feel. I can't hesitate this enough because a lot of people in the community lack this quality personality trait that can make connections with people so much easier! If you can help out the asker as much as you can with your empathy, chances are they will like you and pick you for mho!

Nothing says you're more awesome than being passionate about something you love!
Nothing says you're more awesome than being passionate about something you love!

If you're hoping to aim high, you should stick to what you know best and spread that knowledge/insight out like wildfire! Well, maybe not something dangerous like that but you get the idea! People will appreciate someone who knows what they are talking about and isn't simply putting out useless information or experiences that are proven to be false. If you're passionate about a certain topic(s), you'll likely be able to provide more knowledge/insight than those who aren't in general. Don't waste your potential here on topics you barely/don't know about; continue to have discussions where you feel most comfortable at.

Every little detail will matter here.
Every little detail will matter here.

Read EVERY word that someone provides because there's a good number of people on here who simply skip most, if not all the information the asker posts and they end up frustrated when you're confused about something and the answer is right in the body of the text they posted! Sure, sometimes the information provided may be proven to be useless or repetitive but you may learn something new about the situation that you would have missed if you only read the title of the question. If there's anything that you're confused about or that you believe the asker forgot to ask, speak your mind and say it! They'll likely appreciate you for getting more involved in their question!

Dig into the mind! Figure out what they are looking for!
Dig into the mind! Figure out what they are looking for!

This one is a bonus and optional since it's based off of my experiences on this site. You wouldn't believe how studying the human mind can help me figure out what people are really looking for in each question they ask on this site. By being observant and understanding the thought process of a person, you can calculate if the person is being serious about their question(s), if they are genuinely seeking help or if they plan to just troll people really hard or not give a care in the world! There's so much information you can learn by observing people's opinions/questions, along with viewing their personality and interests as a whole!

Closing Statement

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! If you have any suggestions that I missed on here or want to learn more about this topic in general, you're free to message me or simply post your information here! As someone who's striving to be a mho king as ridiculous and silly as that sounds, I encourage all of you to be the best you can be and continue to provide helpful feedback to all our GAG community members! With that said, I wish you all a fantastic day and I'll see you around!

P.S: I can't figure out why the resolution of my images are so low. If you know how to fix this problem, throw me a DM (Direct message/private message)!
