So child is nine years old. he's a good kid however if you ask him to do something and it is not what he wants to do or when he wants to do it he will refuse and fight it until he gets what he wants. We have tried try to compromise with him make this deal and that deal and what not at times. He loves his screen time, that all he wants most of the time. Well today he was refusing to get ready for school. After 45 minutes of trying to get him ready, I stated for every minute he refuses to do as he was told he would lose 10 mins of screen time. My boyfriend said that the 1 to 10 is unreasonable because 1min is no where close to equaling 10mins. The kid has 5 1/2 -6 hours once he gets off of school and home. Normally only has reading or 1 page homework to do after school. If he really wanted he could have gotten up and ready like he was told and only lose 10 mins from his night. instead sat there for 21 minutes which ads up to 3 hours and 30 minutes. Me doing this caused a fight between his father and I. Once he was ready I wrote out a statement that he lost 3 hours and 10 mins of screen time and can work on earning some of it back by not refusing to do his homework/ reading once he is home from school. The kid told me he understood what I was saying and we both signed the slip to make it a deal. Is what I did unreasonable?

27F, I just feel like I had it harder than others. I haven’t been sexually or physically abused but I had my share of emotional abuse. I was bullied as a kid up to in HS, I was raised by my grandmother who is very petty/fits the “mean girl” description in the sense that she has a big mouth, gossiped about her kids/grandkids with her other kids/grandkids and is a bit of a narcissist. I never really had friends growing up and to go this far in life still without those close friendships and never had a long term relationship under my belt is just so odd. I know nothing is wrong with me but this trauma from my mother’s vindictive side of the family, bullying and just encountering my share of drama with people I’ve come across is unjust considering I’m a very peaceful person. I’m very unsociable and usually now expect people to make the first move to contact me, with current “friends”, family and if a guy actually wants to make a move (which never happens). I feel like people always say things about how everyone goes through a difficult time and we all have a cross to bear. But honestly, I have to disagree. It’s all about the cards your dealt with and life is a series of good and bad luck, some situations are in your control and others not so much. I didn’t ask to be born into my family, I would have been a different person maybe for the better if I wasn’t raised by my grandmother. I wouldn’t have had to go with my grandmother if my mom didn’t divorce my dad.

TL; DR; Does anyone get envious and also under the impression that most people just have life a lot easier and shit is just unfair?
