Let suppose you meet a lovely person who came from a culture where people tend to stick/marry within their own race and going outside that they could be killed/disowned or ostracized from their family, community.

You meet a young girl/guy and you both fall for each other. They show interest but sometimes they take days to respond to some text messages and other times they do it right away. This is your first warning sign but you brush it off on them being busy so you don't bring it up.
When you try to hold their hand they pull away and don't like showing any form of affection but when they are by your place or somewhere no one can see it's the opposite. You ask them what's the deal and why they are so withdrawn and they eventual confess.

They tell you that they are scared of who is watching them because they come from a culture where dating outsiders is frowned upon and if her relatives/friends caught her showing affection for you they would be in serious trouble and possibly killed/disowned. They ask if you understand and hope you can still continue seeing them because they like you.

Would you pursue someone knowing that your relationship will always have to be dirty little secret?

You have been dating someone for 3 or 4 weeks and they keep telling you that they love you, or they bring little gifts like teddy bears (why do girls think guys want to receive a teddy bear?) You two had some potential - or so you thought - until you realized that they were infatuated with you. At first it was flattering but it quickly became annoying and you realized that this person wanted to possess your life and never let you go. You were struggling for breath when you broke free of their death grip and regained control of your life.

What was the earliest warning sign that this person was infatuated, possessive, and lacked the maturity to have a real relationship?

BONUS: MHO goes to the user who has the best explanation for why girls think guys want to receive a teddy bear. :)

Is ghosting really such a big deal? Not saying I don't think it's bad manners, and the only time I ghost someone is if they're harassing me and don't take no for answer, but on the list of dating frustrations I think ghosting is very low on the list.

When you like someone but they don't feel the same way it is disappointing, but does it really matter what the reason was? If someone doesn't go out with you again it's because they don't want to. No one ever forgot about a date they were excited about, if they did then they're lying about how excited they were. Even if they do give you a reason the reason is probably either a lie or something extremely vague like "we just didn't click", "there was no chemistry", or "I don't think this is working out".

in my opinion, I think this is just another extension of entitlement culture. The idea that you're entitled to someone's time just because you went on one date with them. When someone gets upset and demands you respond to them while you're at work just because you went on a date last week is a huge turn off and also a huge warning sign about their personality.
