I’ve seen many things I don’t want to see especially when out in public, I was out with my sister (she’s few years older than me) running an errand a few years ago and while standing in line, she started cracking up and I wanted to know what she was laughing at, she pointed out a girl to me and whispered to me “I can tell that that girl in the gray leggings is wearing underwear, I can see the lines in her leggings, you see it?” I could see it but I didn’t think anything of it, so I asked and she started talking about how girls aren’t supposed to wear underwear if they’re gonna wear leggings and that it looks weird and funny if you see it in public with most types and designs and styles of leggings and that girls usually don’t wear underwear unless the leggings make it almost impossible to see and notice any underwear lines, and that most girls who do it are probably on their period. So over some time that led me to bring it up in conversation with my best friend (who’s a female), my older sister (as is what brings me to post this), another close female friend, in addition to a small number of some of my close female friends, as well as a few dozen random females I happen to interact with online, and the answers and opinions I got aren’t what I’d expected. Right around 75% to even 85%-90% of the time the responses were that they don’t usually wear underwear if they wear leggings. In my question, I asked them to just give an answer taking nothing else into consideration, not what they’d be doing that day, where they’d be going, the brand/style and design of the leggings or underwear, whether or not they were on their period, none of that or anything else, just If they put on or had underwear on when they put on leggings the majority of the time. (I didn’t ask my sister, but her answer was obvious) I’m just kinda surprised that most girls don’t wear underwear if they wear leggings. So I’d like to hear from more women because I’m genuinely curious.

I joined GAG to learn more about women and relationships. There are many flaws I've discovered to how social media works and think they are not good long term. Question becomes, do others feel the same and can it be fixed?

Talking on phone or video provides information like tone, facial expressions (if face provided). Can really discuss in depth. It is obviously, more natural in how we communicate and more satisfying, or quickly ends the discussion, which is fine.

Texting/message threads has issues:
* Multi tasking... jumping back and forth between topics... this is not normal for the male brain at minimum. Women do better multi tasking, but I'd wonder if there are side effects we don't know.
* Addictive tendencies from the dopamine hit.. waiting for responses going back to check on responses. Makes us feel we are important, when we are not.. and results in withdrawal and pain symptoms
* Easy to mis communicate in writing, short answers, or be hurt by
* Leaves a false impression of a connection or "friend", when they could disappear and never hear from again. It's a hollow experience unless a greater offline is created.
* False sense of security... especially for women, but true of men who are gamed. People can put on a facade which is effectively violating trust. This results in hurt and distrust. Many have left GAG because of frauds sending pics, etc.. Many are not genuine... hiding behind a profile.
* Distractions of other media... like news where there is something I'm reading, but other "interesting" stories pop up.

Social media seems poisonous to the human soul. It makes us think we are being social while exercising some of the worst in our nature.

It's a time when we need GOOD social engagement. I don't think social media is it and may be counter productive.

What do you think? Do you think social media should be evolved into something else or it is ok as it is?
