I feel in today's society this question brings out a silent hypocrisy. 5 examples 'child burns down house' Society blames parents for bad parenting. ' mechanisation of specialist career makes people redundant and homeless' Society blames person for not working hard enough. ' known feminist throws bleach at men' Feminists disown her and no one gets criticized. ' man violates and traumatises woman ' Society blames men and masculinity. ' criminal points gun at officer and gets shot by officer' Society blames the officer for being racist and killing , doesn't care about what the criminal did. Some of these I agree with some I don't. I think the people who raise you are somewhat but not entirely responsible for your actions. I also think, just because you disown someone who didn't follow your movements rules, the movement should get off free. You still raised and developed their views. I believe this for all movements/religions.

He said that women should be confined to the house and not be taught Buddhism.

Central to Buddha's teachings, is the destruction of the feminine principle, which is the root of all troubles. One is only reborn as a woman if one accumulates bad karma in one's life. One Buddhist scripture states that the female “should hate her impure body like a jail in which she is imprisoned, like a cesspool into which she has fallen”
