I'm 20 and my boyfriend is 21. We have dated for 7 months now but before we dated we knew each other for a year. When I'm with him, everything is so simple. Talking about anything and everything is always so fun, even when it is just about our day. We know each other very well now, we are completely unmasked, and I always feel at home with him. He's the first person that I've ever felt this clingy towards. He is one of few I have fun with hanging out one-on-one.
But it's finals week. I'm used to seeing him for a couple hours every day, but sometimes he has to study for an exam for a day or two. Whenever this happens, I get really lonely. My roommate also moved out so I'm in a room by myself. I have a friend group, but we don't hang out individually because we click better as a group, and some members are living off-campus so we can't get together every night like we used to. It takes a very special person for me to like hanging out with them one-on-one since I do much better in groups, and because of that, when he leaves I don't have much to do.
The hobbies I tried to develop fell through (making bracelets--I broke the needle. Got frustrated as hell) and clubs on campus seem more interested in spicing up resumes rather than actually doing stuff. I'm a little different, so are my friends, so it's hard to find someone for me to really enjoy being around.
So I'll sit in my dorm, watch YouTube and I'll feel guilty for wasting the day away. I get great grades and everything, I work out and try to eat healthily, but I guess I want to know-what are fun, cheap, productive things to do by yourself? I hate to burden him. Is it unhealthy how much I cling onto him? Is it weird I have issues with one-on-one relationships?

I got my first tattoo at 19. Before I got it, I asked my Roman Catholic mother if it was okay. She said “You’re over 18, do what you want. As long as you can cover it up but your dad won’t like it so let’s not tell him”. I got the tattoo on my side, completely covered by clothing. Members of my moms side of the family have tattoos even though my mom has no interest in getting one herself but she supports the idea as long as it looks good. Now my dad is Protestant (Lutheran to be exact). After I got the tattoo, he gave me a look of disapproval. He argued with my mom about why she let me do it. He had no choice but to accept it because I already got it done. So one day we went rafting down a nearby river with his side of the family. I wore a bathing suit to go swimming. Once my dad’s family saw the tattoo they called me a rebel. Some thought I would become a problem child. My aunt still treats me like I’m 12 because of that. My dad isn’t a fan of people who have tattoos in general, I just had to learn that the hard way.
