I fell in love with her instantly but I never had the courage to make a move so we went to friends. I could never risk losing her from my life because I think she is the most amazing woman, and she inspires me to be better. I left hints so she knows I have feelings for her without telling her directly. We've talked about us and she has suggested a few times that we could not be together. But then she would confuse me by doing something incredibly caring or romantic. I am in a loop of being in the friendzone and trying to accept it, followed by an act which gave me hope of more, to her suggesting we would never work, and back to the friendzone.

We've supported each other so much. She has helped me develop personally, and also deal with the death of someone close to me. And in turn, she has had a tough year personally and professionally so I have supported her and now she's doing better

For the past year, we have had a long call at least once a week. We have been available for each other always. Last week, I called her and for the first time, she never answered or called/text back. We sent each other a couple of texts this week, but I initiated them all. I called her today to no answer, but she text later to just say she was with her friends. I asked her to call me when she was done, but she hasn't.

I feel like she has progressively become more distant from me for a while now. We used to talk all day, every day. Now I'm lucky if she sends me a text 1st.

I've done my best to accept we will never be more. I have tried to do what a friend does; support, care, and be there for her unconditionally.
With her becoming more distant, is it time for me to stop trying, and let her go? Should I not contact her again until she reaches out to me first?
It's tough, she is the first woman I have ever felt love for, despite us never being together. I'm sure she has had feelings for me too but she has been unwilling to compromise on her perfect image of a partner.

Adams lashes out at national Republicans for casting city as crime-ridden

Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday voiced irritation with former President Donald Trump's renewed presence in the city for various legal proceedings and national Republicans' depiction of Manhattan as dangerous place that disregards victims' rights.

“We thought that we were in a good place because he was in Florida and, you know, he didn't tie up our city,” Adams said at an unrelated press conference Wednesday, when asked about preparing for another Trump visit. “Now, he's going to be back here often.”

Trump is scheduled to return to New York later this week to give a deposition in state Attorney General Tish James' business fraud lawsuit against him and his real estate firm.

The historic indictment of the former president by the Manhattan district attorney brought hundreds of protesters last week to the Manhattan criminal courthouse.

Meanwhile Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, a darling of progressive Democrats for his criminal justice reform policies, has drawn the ire of House Republicans, who say the top prosecutor should focus on violent offenders instead of Trump's alleged involvement in a hush money scheme. They plan to hold a so-called "field hearing" in New York City next week on violent crime.

Adams criticized House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for his hearing’s singular focus on New York City when “crime in congressional Republican areas per capita is through the roof." He faulted southern states for the “proliferation of guns” flowing to major cities.

Trump judge and his family receive threats after New York arrest

In the 24 hours since former President Donald Trump’s arraignment, the presiding judge and his family have received multiple threats, two sources familiar with the matter said.

One official said “dozens” of threats have recently been directed at Judge Juan Merchan and his chambers but did not give an exact time frame for them.

The other source said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and other top officials in his office continue to receive threats. The threats have been in the form of calls, emails and letters.

The New York police detail assigned to the DA's office is providing extra security to all affected staff members. Court officers, meanwhile, are boosting security for the judge and the court as a whole as a precaution.

Other steps have been taken, as well. Online bios of employees at the Manhattan district attorney’s office were recently removed from the DA’s website, according to a source familiar with the matter, because of troubling posts on social media, including Trump’s Truth Social platform

Trump and his allies have publicly criticized Merchan and his family, including his adult daughter.

Ahead of his court appearance Tuesday, Trump blasted Merchan on his Truth Social account as a "highly partisan judge" and said the judge and his family are "Trump haters." In the post, Trump said, "HIS DAUGHTER WORKED FOR ‘KAMALA’ & NOW THE BIDEN-HARRIS CAMPAIGN.”

For the purposes of this section, the term judge shall mean a judge of a court of record or a justice court. Assault on a judge is a class C felony.
