I legit setup my crush with my best friend because I don't fit her requirements/criteria. I tried, but before even asking her out, I just knew I wouldn't stand a chance. I just stopped having feelings, and went to as a friend to set her up with someone. She gladly agreed, and she went on a date with my best friend. They are a week into dating after the 1st intial date, much quicker than I thought.

Before I even set them up, my best friend says"if you keep doing this with crushes, you might never find love because you just want to help them meet someone better." I'm sure his right, but I always had a loving caring and respectful heart for helping people. Helping people, especially with crushes, finding happiness with someone they romantically love is rewarding.

I just want to put myself out there, because I'm trying hard to pinpoint what it is that I'm doing wrong. I am a man. 34. I work with disabled youth to help get them workplace readiness training, etc to get them employed. I like riding my bicycle, and going fishing. I work out occasionally and I do the Netflix binge every now and again. I have great patience and I try to not argue over anything. I give 100% of myself in a relationship, putting a strong emphasis on trust and communication. I can be very honest, brutally, but I do respect opinions and I get told all the time how sweet I am and how lovable it is to talk to me. My Internet friends all tell me they fall in love with my voice.

No matter what I do... no matter who I try to date, I always find someone else in the picture or they just aren't interested, or "I'm focusing on me now," but it never works. I'm absolutely gobsmacked as to why. I am very giving and I just want a nurturing person to love me back, not someone who doesn't appreciate me for what I give, but someone who does and gives it back at the same level. I live by myself, have a cat, and I am always, always honest. No mind games or trials to overcome.

What is wrong? Am I really that bad of a person to not want to date?
