Im not talking about settings where a short bald and overweight 50 year old stranger directly hits on an attractive 19 year old. That a no brainer on creepiness.

Im talking about being less polite to people in non romantic settings like waiting in line for coffee or getting a conversation on a subway (around lots of people). A 50 year old stranger should be able to have an innocent conversation with a 19 year old (maybe talks about his kids going to college) or something. Just as long he’s not saying or doing stupid then he’s not doing anything wrong. But if a person is unattractive (age, weight, looks, etc.) we tend to judge them more harshly.

I’m guilty of doing this myself. But I try to check myself. That person could turn out to be a genuine good friend. I think as society gets more sensitive to people with differences this would be a good thing to improve upon. That doesn’t mean being naive to strangers of course. But it means checking that unpleasant thought you have of that person and seriously asking if that’s fair and even reality?

Some men never get complimented on their looks, not even from a family member.
While, some still are told flat-out that they're ugly.
Some men only get complimented by their family.
The comments many women make about men of certain heights, races, builds, etc. and it's easy to see yourself that way.
They deal with rejection a lot and coupled with the various way women dismiss them, it' really demoralizing.
In my case, the only compliments I get were from other guys trying to pump me up, people i consider family, and a few female friends.
The best compliment I ever had was, "You have a good bone structure".
I'm completely ignored by the fairer sex most of the time. I genuinely consider myself ugly as sin.

People don't want to date below average looking men/women. Because of that such people feel depressed that nobody would wants to date them or have sex with them.

But if they're asexual they don't care about it. They don't have to ask questions like on GAG quadrillion times "do looks matter?", " Would you date someone who's ugly?"

I see so many times these questions were asked on GAG and would be asked in future too ( take it from me in writing ).

People don't wanna sounds shallow and want to get MHOs so they reply "No looks do not matter, he/she must have a good heart", "Real love don't care about looks, if it's about looks then it's not love, it's lust!"

and such types of opinion gets MHOs but when you enter real practical world your observations are completely opposite of what you've read from these people. And again you ask the same question on GAG or Quora. And Loop goes on an on an on...

It's like " I know I couldn't afford to live on mars, but I won't feel bad about it coz I don't really want to." Similarly ugly asexual people knows that most people will not want to date them or have sex with them , but they're asexual so they don't really care.

Pretty simply question, to which I sort of already sort of know the answer, but I'm more or less curious for people to elaborate in terms of the specifics as it relates to how they deal with height when in comes to online dating.

I'm a short guy, about 5'5 with shoes on. I'm a decent looking dude, and I've had a handful of girlfriends in my 30 or so years of life, but when it comes to online dating, I feel like my success is not at all in line with with the success I should be having in terms of my overall looks, career, profile quality, etc. It's especially interesting to use and pay for the apps like bumble and tinder that then allow you to directly see who finds you attractive. In my case, the only people liking my profile are people who I would consider to be 3/10 at best. when I know I'm at least a 7 and most of the girls I've dated have been around there as well. This has made me wonder if the reason for this is that in an online setting, people are simply filtering me out by height and the only people who are even seeing my profile are really unattractive people who are too desperate to even care who they are dating. They're just happy to get a date.

So if you're given the ability on the site, do you filter out height and where is your cut off if you do.

When seeing you for the first time, what do strangers usually assume about you? Positive things, negative things, neutral things or different things each time, or no assumptions at all?

I'm short, quite unattractive looking (ugly), overweight, dark-skinned, etc. So you can assume what I always get from everyone about first impressions, and it's not Option A.
