I guess this wasn't reason enough for a more militant organization of African Americans to take a stand. As a college educated minority, I find it very interesting how willingly distorted and revisioned history seems to be among some people. Lately I have heard numerous people claim that The Black Panthers were a racist hate group. This suggests a very unintelligent understanding of history. The Black Panther Party was created because some African Americans were tired of peacefully protesting while having balloons full of piss thrown at them. Believe it or not, some African Americans were sick of being attacked by large dogs at the hands of police and having high pressure fire hoses sprayed on them after PEACEFULLY, RESPECTFULLY attempting to gain equal rights. Perhaps they wouldn't have had a militant aspect had the police not been present when Black men were being stripped, beaten, and lynched at barbeques. Gee, maybe if massive amounts of racist white people weren't getting away with raping little Black girls and Black mothers in front of their children in the middle of the night, there would have been no need for a Black Panther Party. Maybe if white judges were actually persecuting the white psychopaths who were going on killing sprees for Black people during the era of lynching then they wouldn't have needed guns. I find this no different than white settlers who spread disinformation about the Native Americans, who were originally peaceful and welcoming, being brutal savages. What is it with white people revising history so that their atrocities are minor and the minorities’ response is major?

Are modern day white people who claim The Black Panther Organization is a racist hate group any different from white settlers who claimed Native Americans were savages?
