How can a person be good without religion?

Religion is man-made; though I'd reckon most know that...There's no proof that any God wrote the Bible or the Koran.

But then despite what many in the world think, I reckon there are many ways a person without religion and/or God can be good, namely:

Be good to all

This simply means not being hurftul, rude, dismissive, nor curt to anybody. Nobody needs a holy book or some priest for this.

Empathy

Recognise others' have emotions, thoughts and feelings, and this is key in getting along. So if you know that hitting somebody, or stealing or raping or killing will harm others, then don't do it.

This is linked with empathy; however it's really just how we evolved and common sense. We don't need a god to tell us how to do this, since we innately know how others will get on it. And it's also about self-interest too, since people know there will be negative consequences to this if needs be. This could be shunning, or in some social spaces even death.

I must be honest...to ME at the least it's a no-brainer that we don't need God and/or religion to be good. I know that others won't receive bad actions, and this is enough. But then everybody rightfully has his or her own view on this, though moral sense is innate I believe.
