Ladies (hetero), do you accept that you will do most of the housework in a relationship/marriage? Included, but not limited to, cleaning, laundry, cooking, kid related stuff, etc?

I was reading an article on emotional labour, which discussed how men need to be told how they can help, rather than taking initiative and doing it (even things that just involve cleaning up after themselves), and how that cam be emotionally exhausting in itself for a woman.

Anyway, discuss!

OK so obviously this is about me and I am with an accident prone guy.
Me:. I always pay the bills, can you do this one time
Him:. OK. Later he tells me he forgot the password that he made, and we are logged out of all our accounts. We have to call to unlock but he has t. He is too busy and can not for a long time. In other words, something that should take 5 minutes online will now take a couple months.

Me:. Can you not promote your ex?
Him:. If your friends slept with another person or lied or cheated and stole from you, it's OK. But it's not OK if I do it? You are such a hater and I can do whatever I want. I am a grown man. If I want to hang out with her, it's none of your business. This is my boundaries. Goes and hangs out with ex. Later sleep over with ex.

Me:. I washed ten loads of your laundry, can you do your last load
Him:. That's like me doing my dishes and telling you that I won't do yours. He does dishes every night and piles them incorrectly in the dishwasher. I end up doing them every morning. He also said that I complain about doing his laundry (which I did one time and never again). And he says that his friends wives do their laundry and make them breakfast in bed.
Needless to say, I told him I don't trust him and I can't count on him anymore. He has gotten really angry at me and started to ignore me. What can I do?

My boyfriend does almost no housework. We both work full-time and tired. For more than a year now, every day after work, I make all the effort to cook, do dishes, laundry. On the weekend, I also am the only one that does cleaning for the house. I have to admit that it is very tiring and stressful. I had talks with him and told him he needs to start doing something. He improves for maybe a week and it goes back to normal. When I tell him to do something, he would procrastinate until it's too late. For example, "Oh, it's almost 10pm it's too late to cook, I will order take out. Problem is, we really shouldn't be spending at this time. Most of my friends and family told me that it's so obvious he is taking me for granted. I can see it too and I am really fed up.

Couple days ago I burst out at him. I told him straight up that I am very stressed because I keep on picking up his slack. I also told him that he is taking me for granted. It is not my responsibility and I am not his mother. He understood and he felt bad. He said he doesn't mean to and he's never good at housework. I told him that I get that sometimes men aren't the best but you have to do your part. I told him if he does even a quarter of what I do, I would be very happy. I made up a schedule for housework. I told him if he skips something then he needs to do extra work the next day. If he skips twice, then I will only cook for myself. He said he will try but no promises. His attitude is just like, "well, I will try to do them but if I end up not doing my part, oh well!" He's not really making the best effort to help me out here :(

Right now, there are a lot of garbage and the dishes aren't done. It's his task today to do those things. I told him to please clear that up, it's already 12am here and he's still playing video games. After all this, there's still not much improvement. Should I give him more time? Or put more pressure on him like if you don't pick up your slack, I'm gone that type of a deal?
